1. Naptser - I hate the record companies, but I hate intellectual theft too.
2. Elvis - Some really good music, and some really awful jumpsuits.
3. Star Wars - I want to love the new movies. I'm trying. Really I am.
4. Slavery Reparations - There might be a case against some insurance companies and railroads, but, you know what, the Government fucked with my family 200 years ago, too. Where's my check?
5.Chris Rock - I knew him when he wasn't funny, and I still see him that way, and now he's doing a movie with Anthony Hopkins, so I guess he is funny, only I'm not seeing it.

I don't know. I can't make up my mind.

Sheesh quit being a pansy and make up your mind.

I personally love Chris Rock.

1- any of the new "malt" beverages. schmirnoff ice and the like. if you're gonna drink drink something real like bourbon or vodka or tequilla. not that sissy stuff.

2-reality tv shows. reality in whose universe. i might actually be a little more than ambivilant about shows that go that far to trespass on your intelligence.

3-threads with lists in them

4-threads with the entire lyrics of a song

5-missing out on my afternoon nap

Hmmm...I think its catching, this wishy washiness of yours.

I cant seem to decide on which comment to answer you with.

Hey...the older I get, the less I can tolerate liquor. I happen to like Schmirnoff Ice. It gives me a buzz without knocking me on my ass.:) Maybe they make it for old fogies like me:mad:

I agree DCL..what was he thinking???????

You've got a good point on Napster-esque programs. *Shrugs.* I openly and widely use such programs - but it's my policy (and a policy I've rooted in many that I talk to) to use Napster as a sort of "testing ground." It's bad enough to pay $13 for a CD. It's worse when you find out the one song you heard was the only one you liked.

Hey, out of curiosity, DCL, do you know how much cash performers get from concert tickets? Or merchandise? I know the percentage with CDs is ridiculously low. How is it for these other things?

Hell, I don't think the Star Wars thing is really a problem deciding. You want to like them, yes, but you know they're absolutely horrible. *Snickers.* My loyalties with not calling the new Star Wars movies crap died with Episode 2.

1. British politics. I'm sure it matters in some way but I haven't seen it
2. Single person computer games. Where's the fun if you can't call your best friend a wimpy bitch?
3. Jelly Filled doughnuts.
4. Lacrosse
5. Satellite TV vs. Digital

All satellite TV in north america is digital unless you are stealling it with a big backyard dish and a descrambler.

No, I mean the difference between having a satellite dish and Digital service TV which is just a little box.

Trust me. There's a difference.

One gets signals from satellites. The other is like cable but bigger.

Oh i know that I just thought you were infering that you could get not digital satellite cause you can't.

We have digital cable around here and if you are going to get multiple TV's and an cablemodem it is better to get the digital cable. Otherwise stick with the Satellite dish.

My wife isn't a big TV fan and Satellite gets me more and cooler channels.

So the multiple TV argument doesn't work for me.

Plus, the people I get my internet from offer a package deal with satellite TV.

Thats cool I wish someone around here would do that. Blacksburg has really gone down hill from what it used to be when it was the 'Most wired town in america."

Interesting.........

Wow! Dix? I'm exactly the opposite……….not.

In fact, let's see - my five things?

1. Everything that has not yet been proven or sufficiently defined - but is constantly the subject of great analytical scrutinization.

2. All the people on the planet who constantly over analyze and scrutinize all those things which have not yet been proven or sufficiently defined.

3. Everything that ‘has’ been proven and thus is finite yet still gets overly analyzed and scrutinized in attempts to redefine it.

4. All the people that do number 3.

5. What the hell? All the people, everywhere and while we're at it - everything.

Yeah, you know Canada on a per capita level is the most wired country in the world?

And they call us boring.

Sounds more to me like you don't like those things instead of being ambivalent.

Well you are still boring but you don't have many people, your per captia income level is very high and you are very technicaly advanced so that makes sense to me.

That and you have all those people out in the middle of no where and having some kine of satellite internet link is probably the best way for them to communicate.

You know, something like 70 % of Canada's population lives 100 miles from the US border.

Middle of nowhere in deed.

I think it's cause we're so cool. Could a boring country have given the world Celine Dion?

Wait, don't answer that.

No no I know that most of your people live close to the border but you do have many small groups spread out over a wide area in the fart northern regions. Thats what I meant about many people living in the middle of no where. You have a lot of small populations that are no where ne any other population center.

Hey you also gave us Jim Carrey and Norm MacDonald hmhhh...

There's an open casting call out now for a new movie that Chris Rock will be filming this summer in DC and Baltimore. It's going to be a political comedy. They say that they will need about 7,000 (yes, seven thousand) extras to be in political rallies, black tie parties, and presidential inaugural balls. A friend and I are thinking about going to the audition tomorrow, just to get the experience of filming a movie. With so many extras, I'm wondering how much we'll actually get to see and do. The likelihood of our actually being seen in the movie also seems very slight. What do you think, DCL? Is it worth doing?

  • Sitcoms. Same old jokes over & over again. Is there really that much difference between "Friends" and "Three's Company"? I don't think so.
  • Sports. Takes oodles of time to watch all the games and know all the stats, and doesn't advance civilization one iota. Do we take a giant step forward when someone breaks the home run record?
  • Tanning booths. Turning your skin into leather may have side benefits, but is it really attractive?
  • Hair spray. Let it loose, girl. Let it loose.
  • Boob jobs. If the guy wouldn't look twice at you unless you had big fat D's, why would you want him?
