Several people have asked me to post a few pics from the Scuba trip I took over the Christmas break. I thought I would give it a try.

This one is at Cozumel. The central coral is a very large fan coral. Below it, the fish is a blue angel.

I don't want to make a thread that is the equivilent of someone's home movies, so I'll only post more if people want to see them. :)

This is a good picture of a French Angel. It's from grand cayman and really shows off how clear the water is there off the west Wall.

this is a good idea of what Santa rosa reef looks like. Lots of sand with outcroppings of coral. About 30 feet behind me, it drops off to nearly 300 feet along the reef. the fish iwith his nose in the coral is a parrot fish.

Lovely pics, Colleen. The water is so clear!

It is clear. You can't really believe it until you see it. The clearest so far has been at Grand Cayman, but Cozumel and Costa Maya are very close. We are all so used to looking under water & seeing green or blue. It's hard to believe how clear it really is until you are down there with a mask and respirator :)

Off Belize, just south of Cozumel, the water is the clearest I've ever seen. There's no industry and little major ship traffic because of the reefs. Much of the area is preserve, also. Beautiful.

I wanted to dive Belize, but the government there seems hostile to Americans and I was warned there might be a lot of paperwork barriers placed before me that would keep me out of the water. I don't know the veracity, but with so little dive time available to us, my folks skipped the Belize stop cruise for the costa de maya one.

This would be a hoot with 3D glasses.

That must have been a wonderful experience Colly.

I'm still waiting to see pictures of you in a bathing suit....

Aren't we all... :p

The pictures are beautiful, Colly, though a poor substitute for a shot or two of you. :rose: Please post more, either subject. ;)

I saw the thread title "Dive" and quickly jumped in, while sadly disappointed in one sense I was pleasantly surprised in another.

My sense of terror that anything bigger than a minnow just might be a 30 foot long shark will probably mean I never will see that type of beauty, sadly.

If you ever want to play around in a swimmin pool I, and both my nipples, are up for it.

Definately yes!! to more pics, please Colly.

Wow, it looks so tranquil. Beautiful pics.

This one shows the parrot fish better. I think this is a blue parrot. It also shows some brain corall, elkhorn coral and tube coral. I have no ide what the blue fish in the back groun dis :)

Taking pics of me is done upon pain of death.

I think there may be one or two with me in my shorty wet suit :)

Run by any sharks?

Saw one small sand shark, in a school of shiners. He was ity bity and I was already below my 500 pounds of air so I had to surface. Those with air left got some goo pics of him.

I've been so lucky, not only in where i have been able to dive, but in the conditions. The worst clarity was off the Caymans and it was darn near crystal. The hurrican really beat up the reefs there though :(

the biggest fish I have seen so far was a tarpon, He scared the heck out ofme, because I met him in a very tight coral canyon and, well, he looked hungry :)

I hgave a pic in here somewhere of the california barracudda I saw. he was impressive.

This is a very good picture of a brain coral and leaves no doubt how it got it's name :)

Our friend the blue parot was mugging for the camera. The small deep blue fishes are indigo baslets. The yellow fish below the reef lip are Yellow tails.
