Life has royally sucked the past month and frankly if I laid out all that I was dealing with, no one would believe me. Hell, if I wasn't living this, I wouldn't believe it.

Anyway, I'm looking for a distraction. Tell me about your day, what's going on in your life. I want to hear all about you.

Part of my job is delivering donations to the less fortunate. Today I delivered food and water to a couple and their 3 kids. The mom had an open sore on her thigh and no bandages, the dad had on sneakers at least 2 sizes too big with no laces, and the kids, though seemingly clean, had on the rattiest clothes.
The "new" apartment they had somehow aquired was a rundown house that some slumlord had turned into "apartments" that looked like they were about to fall in...completing the picture was no power or water turned on.
A trip to the store solved the bandage, shoes, and children's clothes issues...but that was my day. A drink, or two or three has me getting through it.
I post this to say that maybe others have had a shittier last few months...but possibly not, I don't know.
Btw, this is posted to help a little, hopefully...not to belittle your situation.

A loooong, boring day in work, today. Luckily, it's quiet, so I'm spending my time perving on here! ;)

I've started the process of looking for new power tools. I have 3 working 18V Ni-Cad batteries. Which brand to buy into? Performance wise they are, I think, percentage points difference between them all. I'll have to check to see what other tools are offered. I'll choose a mid-priced drill/driver-impact combo and add what I really need. I have a cordless circular saw I've use a half dozen times, so I really don't need one of those but my oscillating tool gets used a fair bit. The biggest determining factor will be what feels good in my hands. Let the fun begin.

I am so laughing at this because about a year ago I went through what power tools to buy with a close friend. We went to many of stores to put hands on them and did a metric fuck ton of research. He landed on the Milwaukee M18 fuel line of tools. I agreed with his choice and now borrow his tools when I have projects, LOL. They felt the best in both of our hands.
