When you roleplay, either with pure writing or in the context of a more organized game, what roles do you find fun to play and why? Race, profession(or class in a game), gender, magical or other special abilities, personality and philosophy... what and why?

I generally start out every new game system as a healer- its close to my own nature and I've played so many through other systems that I generally learn that fastest. And healer, especailly good ones, tend to be in high demand.

Once I know the system- I'm all over the place. My fav character to date has got to be a Planetouched Cleric of St Cuthbert (guess who she was descended from) with tri-colored eyes and a knack for rolling 20's on her fortitude checks while getting laid. She was fun.

in DnD i always liked a half-orc barbarian or a dwarf fighter. In message board style RP, i am almost always some form of warrior and almost never human or elven. Usually i am a dwarf or a created race, and when im human its always some type of wild barbarian warrior tribe. My favorite created race are people who often find their way into my stories, they are called Riada, and they're a near human race inspired by celts and vikings. They are possessed of horns swept back over their heads, and wolflike fangs, and are much better suited to war and hunting then humans.

I dont quite know why i always play warriors, but i suppose it stems from my love for the great epics and fighting is always fun

In diablo 2 its martial arts assain hands down, shame its not competative in hell mode.

In terms of most games I am familar with I like to have characters that can be versatile and use odd combinations of advatages. In dnd for example wizard based inatiates of the seven fold veil, and cleric based radiant servents of pelor. Usally with a nonstandard race. Basicly a combo I know other people havn't used often.

In terms of on here, I am all over the place. I am male as often as female, I've been gay, raped, healers, sorcers, demons, gender changing individuals, people with short term memory, dragons that eat people, dragons that help people, The Brain of pinky and the brain, and many more. I just havn't been some one who is blind, mute, deaf, or seriously impaired in a permnement manner.

What I have enjoyed doing on lit the most however is takeing a character I have used before and reinventing it. Take my healer for example, the first one I made on lit was a suicidal teen wo could heal from anything, the next one was a bit older and only thought about suicide breifly same power. The next one was not suicidal at all and had the power to repair anything aslong as the parts were in reach, thus she could heal from all but loss of blood or a removed body part. The next one could heal any one in a manner simiar to the frist, but he could only heal so much in a day but he had short term memory and the amount of time he could remember was inversly proportional to the amount of healing he had left in the day. Each generation was slighting difrent and they grewin complexity, it was a fun exploration of the basic healer.

Why are dwarfs cool? Why are clerics cool? Do they symbolize something to you? Me I like shapeshifters because they symbolize adaptability, to me being a shapeshifter is like the magical equivalent of being MacGyver lol. Also I like being a dragon, although the symbolism of that is more muddled - eggs are potential, scales are toughness, wings are freedom, and dragons in general are power, not necessarily violent power but maybe spiritual or protective (I don't play the type of dragons that hoard treasure and eat people, I play anthro dragons as a fantasy or alien race).

Man it's been awhile. I figure this is a good way to sneak back in.

I've always been a fan of knights and paladins: Those ultimate do-gooders. It's due to reading all those Arthurian legends in high school and just falling in love with how knights acted. I played a knight on here awhile ago that I later adapted to a D&D game my friend was running.

I've also had a lot of fun going against the grain, specifically a chaotic neutral (read, batshit crazy) kender with an unhealthy obession for cake and a choatic evil rogue.

On here, I'll play whatever strikes me. It lets me stretch my wings a bit when all I have to go by is my imagination and the limits the imposed by the campaign designer. I've been everything from that knight I mentioned earlier to Batman to Ryu to a psychic to a vampire. I liked playing them all. I hope to play get in on some good games and create more memorable characters soon.

The dragon shaman in Dnd is the class for you. Your view on dragons is what grants them there power as a class. You may wish to combine it with a shape shifter race sense the class is flexible.

If you just want to be adaptable I recommend taking the factotum class, it has healing, turn undead, spell casting, combat, large ac bonuses, and the ability to pick up other class features. I recommend going all in there, or you could combine it with the chameleon prestige class which would let you choose at the start of the day weather you wanted more spell casting in either field, wild empathy, trap finding, and more combat ability.

To me its the creation of the character, the more unique the character is the happier I am. I suppose with my goal you could say I desire making a real person since no two people are alike, but its more likely that I simply enjoy coming up wih new ideas.

Those that play DnD please look at my OOC Diciples of the forgotten. If you don't wis to play but have feed back feel free to PM me. I am always open to contructive critism.
