This thread is a place for the writers of the Online Role Play, "Humans are a Nuisance", to post OOC questions, comments, and concerns and to post plot ideas in which they need participation from a fellow writer.

It would be nice if it didn't turn into a runaway chat room, though. My experience with that (from my former role play site, ick!) is that once it gets turned into a chat room, writers "unsubscribe" and stop paying it any attention, at which point important things get missed by the most active writers (i.e., the ones you want to read your question, comment, or concern.)

Therefore, I would like to suggest some guidelines (not rules, per se):

1. Post your plot ideas for which you need the participation of a fellow writer, but respond to them via PM.
2. After you get a satisfactory response to #1, edit your post to reflect that the role is filled.
3. Post your question, comment, or concern only if you feel it needs to be seen by most or all of the writers.
4. Respond here to posted questions, comments, or concern only if you feel your response needs to be seen by most or all of the writers.
5. If either 3 nor 4 is more of a 1x1 question, comment, concern, or response, please do via PM.

Following these guidelines will prevent this from becoming a nuisance to writers. Thank you.

Occasionally, I will provide links below to questions, comments, and/or concerns that are worth keeping in sight. (Most will make it to the "FAQ" eventually, too.)

The Very Vague Direction
of
"Humans Are a Nuisance"​

EXPLANATION:

As I have said in other posts, this role play doesn't have only one plot that must involve all characters. Each character can be involved in many things, from basic survival to exploration to sex to staring at the purdy clouds.

There is, however, a very vague direction which we will follow. Since the name of the role play implies that the Humans are going to be a nuisance to the Voran, here's the direction I am proposing:

1. The Humans come to Vora III .... DONE!
2. They get to know one another and get to know their neighborhood ... IN PROCESS!
3. Then, three major events begin to involve them with the Voran:
   • First, the debris (and bodies) from the descent of the "Rebirth" are found. It's obvious that the finds are alien in nature, so the Voran are going to be panicked, curious, concerned, excited ... what ever. You won't know what they're doing specifically, because I'm not going to tell you yet. Haaa! I love being in charge!
   • Second, Kyle (and any other character who wants, if you are interested) is going to trek down into the valley ... to take a look. They might find something, they might not. I don't know yet. But ... I would bet on finding something. That's gonna get him in trouble with Derek, but I haven't decided how to react to that yet. (Derek may be in charge, but he's not a dictator. I'm still working with improv' on that.)
   • And finally -- and this affects all characters -- we are going to discover within just a couple of days that something is wrong with us. We're getting ill: we might even lose some more non-player characters. What we will learn is that we aren't getting the right kind of nutrition ... or maybe the water is bad ... or maybe we are eating something poisonous. Who knows? Still working on it. The point is this: someone is going to suggest to Derek that we need to know more about Vora and the Vorans and how they survive. Maybe they're eating something we aren't; or maybe they aren't eating something we are. We need to know ... and that is going to expose us to the Voran ... who will find us, wait for it ... waaaaait for it ... you guessed it ... a Nuisance.

So, I have a serious issue, everyone. I am losing my 3G connection in a couple of days, which means that I will only be able to post when I can get a free wifi signal. This means no role play from home. I seriously doubt that I will be able to maintain a group role play with such a limitation.

Do we want to just end this here and now? Or does someone want to take over Hosting the role play?
