Discussion Group: Was it worthwhile?

Actually, not much discussion. Mostly a statement of views.

I'd like to know what Bubba, the author, has to say about this. Does he think it was worthwhile? I mean, his story got more exposure than it might have ordinarily.

And for that reason alone, I think it was worthwhile.

On a forum like this it is a bit more difficult to have an exchange of comments, like a group would do while discussing a book over lunch.

I think it was worthwhile. When is the next one?

I think it's helpful. I learned a few things from reviewing his work and reading the reviewers comments on it. Every bit helps.

The story wasn't actually discussed, nor was there discussion about the writing, or anything. It was just a long critique of mechanical errors. I think the feedback board is the wrong place, it belongs on the author board. I think the story needs to be actually discussed rather than reviewed and critiqued. Why was the story successful? Why did it fail? The big issue that seemed to pop up in this one was the blurring of physical reality, like seeing nipples when she's behind him and the whole cervix thing, and character development.

I didn't think that the characters were important. All the action was at the interface.
If there is no plot, no continuation, then who cares about them. Put this 'episode' inside a story and the characters are already formed.

I'd rather discuss the plausability of the story. Not plausable in my view. That was much more important. That needed to be 'corrected' or given a 'motivation' such as 'a dream/fantasy.
