What is the best video game translation to a motion picture?

Ok, I guess I will start.

I liked Mortal Kombat quite a bit. It was a decent script considering the source material.

As for the worst, I have two of them. ...... Mario Brothers and Street Fighter

Sorry the worst game to film had to be Double Dragon the Movie....pity I had always liked the game...first one anyway

Resident Evil was oribaly the best I seen, but Mortal Kombat's sequel, really agrivated me...

I liked M Bison as a villain, how ever I would have to agree with you about the movie sucking.

I didn't see Dauble Dragon.

Mortal Kombat was a very good Movie and the second one really did suck, and those are the two I'll have to vote with. Mortal Kombat as the best and the sequel as the worse.

If you don't mind me branching out, may I propose we add another vote. I think it is fiting we discuse series based on video games as well.

You know what, the live action Street Fighter movie sucked, big time. But both the animated movies was done very well.

I would have to agree. The Mortal Kombat sequel sucked big time especially after the first one was pretty good.

poohlive's gonna shut this down when he sees it.

But until then, I'd have to agree that RE was the best so far, not that it was so impressive. I hear the second's supposed to be good, but then, maybe that person liked the first one, too. I see potential for a good movie there, but I saw the same potential in the first one, which didn't quite deliver. I heard House of the Dead was good too, but haven't seen it, and find it hard to believe.
Super Mario Bros. was bad. Mortal Combat wasn't bad at all, save for the overdone animation style effects, and the sequel I couldn't even watch.
Double Dragon and Street Fighter were bad, in fact, I don't think I saw DD to the end.

A bunch of people from work went and saw House of the Dead and thought it was horrible. And this is people with only half a brain so it had to be really really bad.......

It was bad...the only slightly amusing part of the whole flick was when a character died the screen turned red and such like in the game...that was cheesy but funny. Everything else about it sucked.

I liked the original MK flick but not the sequel, Double Dragons sucked...Street Fighter was meh...I enjoyed RE but I thought the ending was sort of pointless with her standing in the middle of the road basically nude with the debris everywhere holding the gun *shakes head*
Anyone see the Tekken animated movie?

Tekken was an good animated movie, but it really only revolved around the Mishima, and Kazama confrontation. I really expect more character devolpment.

I don't the ending of RE was pointless, it pretty much told me to expect another RE movie. Of course, I look into the endings alot more than other people.

I honestly can not judge animated versions of games, since I am just starting to watch more animated movies. I thought the ending to RE was ok for the reason that it was an obvious segway into the sequel. Though a little more closure would have been nice.

I think the Darkstalkers anime series was pretty good. It went into detail on some of the characters histories, which I really liked. I mostly like the Chinese Vampires though, so I'm kinda biased

What Chinese Vampire in Darkstalkers? You mean LeiLei? I think she is like a zombie ...

There are no female Vampires in darkstalkers that I know of, (Note: Morgan and Lilith are both sucubusis not vampires) and Leilei is an ghost.
