This morning, my works activity showed that two people had commented on my latest story. (Contract Clash - https://literotica.com/s/contract-clash)

I had left the tab open to the comments (since the links from comment activity no longer go directly to the comments), so I hit refresh on the page. The problem is, the comment count went DOWN by two rather than up. The two new comments were there, but four old comments were missing.

The bigger problem is, they were my own comments on my own story, so, other than me, only an admin could have deleted them. There was nothing in them that I can see justified deleting them. They were certainly no worse than comments that weren't deleted. They are missing from My Comments on my dashboard as well, so it does not appear to be a display error with story page.

So, I'm left with the big question of who deleted my comments and why, and how to I get them restored?

Only you and the site can delete comments, but anyone can report a comment for breaching guidelines. Presumably, your own comments breached a guideline. I doubt you'll get them back, but you could repost them - if it's worth the effort.

Just to be precise, you can also delete your own comments if you visit the "My Comments" tab in your UCP.

Once again, I do not believe there was anything in those comments that justified removal. Granted, I don't remember the exact wording of them. Heck, I couldn't tell you off the top of my head who I was replying to or about. However, while I might get a bit snarky with a heckler, my comments are almost exclusively answers to questions I'm asked or corrections to misconceptions mentioned in the comments.

If it had been a single comment deleted, I might believe that I crossed a line in annoyance with the comment I was responding to. That's still a big maybe, but there's no way I'm going to believe I crossed it in four different comments.
