The principal of the high school special education department brought me into her office and angrily threatened me with jail and legal consequences because I said a few sarcastic and derogatory things about the intelligence of special ed students.

I later found out by my stepfather (who was a very high-ranking attorney) that what she did was illegal because I was 16 years old at the time and threatening a minor with criminal charges is illegal without having a parent or guardian present.

Apparently freedom of speech has limitations.
