I've got my disability hearing tomorrow at 11:30 my time (PST). I would really appreciate lots of prayer and good thoughts tomorrow. If I can get on disability I can get health insurance and then start seeing the dr's I need to see. Then hopefully I can get healthy enough to get off disability.

I will be sending you good energy and hope you get approved. I know what a hassle it is (I fortunately didnt have to go thru the hearing process but my girlfriend did and they approved her).

Your disability hearing and my appointment with my cardiologist to go over my CAT scan results is the same time... 2:30pm (EST) If I am not being freaked out by being told I have to have an emergency kidney catheter done, I'll be praying for you gracie!

And I'll go by the Great American Cookie Company on my way home and think "just for you"!

*hugs* will be thinking good thoughts for you! Hope everything goes well.

will be thinking about you gracie and you will be in my prayers *hugs you and hands you a cookie* good luck!

We went through much the same thing when I was applying to be Master Gil's carer - lots and lots of fun red tape  Here's hoping it all goes in your favour hun :rose:

Best wishes Gracie. If they don't give it to you send them over for a spanking :D

I'm sending good energy your way!

And

*crossing fingers*

Let us know how it turns out.

Sorry for taking so long. I just got home. I had a billion and one errands to run after the appointment. My lawyer says it looks good. The judge wants me to get a second opinion, from a different doctor so they're going to make me an appointment with a different gi and pay the bill. They also want the stuff from my last dr's visit. OHSU is being a pain in the ass about it. The first time they wouldn't send it to my lawyer cause hte form I filled out said "I authorize . . ." instead of "I, *fill in name*, authorize". Then the second time they said they wouldn't cause I didn't sign my whole name. *rolleyes* My lawyer put up a huge stink, so they said that 'this time' they'd allow it, then sent the wrong damn record. They sent one from two years ago that she already had. So we didn't have it in time for the hearing, but we have a month to send it. So I won't really know anything till later, but my lawyer says the fact that they didn't ask me a ton of questions is a good sign.

EG - how'd your appt go?

Positive vibes going out for you graceanne ... chocoloate cookies too! :nana:

Keep us up to date, ok, sweetie?

We need an update on you too, Evil_Geoff, although 'sweetie' is probably not something you answer to. ;)

It sounds a step nearer to being succesful Gracie.

*Now sitting waiting to find out about EG*

Damn, these 'health wait' things are hell

Thanks everyone.

Do you think we need to lure him out of the woodwork? Maybe tie up a subbie and leave them exposed and vulnerable. Now we need a volunteer . . . .

Moi?

And somehow I didn't think I'd want for volunteers. Just a feeling I had.

Hey gracie, glad things went fairly well today, sorry you didn't get a definite answer but the wheels are moving and hoefully in the right direction now!

Todays trip was of the good news/bad news variety.

The Good News - The cat scan was negative for any kidney blockages, abnormal adrenal gland growth, etc. And my bloodwork was all good again.

The Bad News - They are going to have to start medical troubleshooting to figure out what's causing the BP spikes. This morning I was 142 / 89, not great but not horrible either. By appt time I was up to 182 / 102. Doc seems to think that sleep apnea may be at fault so Tuesday night I get to spend the evening at the hospital wired 3 ways to Sunday so they can tell me I snore and snort a lot in my sleep.

If it's not sleep apnea, then they'll be looking at other possible causes... *sighs* This sucks.

But at least my kidneys are working all hunky dorey for the moment. :)

WOO HOO! The tied up subby worked! :p

So glad your kidney's are doing ok, sorry about your b/p. And good luck sleeping. lol I always figured that no one could sleep wired six ways from sunday.

Sending hugz to both of you.

Evil_Geoff: I have gone through the doing endless tests and more tests to find out what in the world was wrong with me. It took about 4 years to get a definitive answer...Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. It was such a corker.....I have a disorder that there is no definitive diagnostic test to determine if the patient has it ( the diagnosis is done through the process of elimination and a close look at the patients symptoms) aaaaand there is no one treatment available to treat it. They just treat the symptoms!!! Oh such fun. But, nonetheless, I am glad I went through it as not only do I have an answer now and know there is something really wrong but it also helped me to get on disability so i can get treatment. So, as one has been through it and still deals with the tests you have my empathy and prayers that they will be able to give you a definitive diagnosis and treatment for whatever they find out.

graceanne: I have also been through the hassle of getting on disability...both with SSI and the VA...neither was a very enjoyable experience but very worthwhile. I am still (7 years later) battling it out with the VA. My Service Rep is really good and is very supportive in his opinion that in the end we will get what we are wanting. I am shooting for 100% service connected disability so as to be able to get complete benefits from the VA. One can hope. If they didn't ask a lot of questions and requested just those few things more it sounds like you have the right to be very optimistic! Which is a really good thing. Hang in there....I think you are winning!
