Age is relative, isn't it! I have always been attracted to men who are several years older than me.
Funny, though, now that I am back in the "dating scene" again, that I have guys who are 10-15 years younger (or more!) wanting to date me because I offer them stability, show confidence in myself, I am accomplished professionally, etc... all the things I WANT in an older man!
BUT, now that I am getting older and meeting younger "older" men... they are showing those same attributes! Another "dirty old man" checking in. I too am ancient, clean, kinky, and know the right amount of cologne to put on. The problem for me is that there does not seem to be any younger ladies in Portland that want that type of guy. So I wind up with women closer to my age most of the time.
It's pretty cool too to know there are ladies out there that know a crankshaft takes lubrication...

The one poster who referred to himself at being ancient is only 40, so I guess age is really all in how you feel when saying that about ones self!
So, is there anything wrong with someone your own age? I believe I am the one who mentioned what you refer to as "lubrication" for the crankshaft... maturity/youthful outlook combination has to be developed but is also something in one's personality, too...
I, for one, am still trying to have a happy childhood!

Well PP... I am 57. However, it is just chronological. I am very active (that's me in the AV) and while I cannot do physically what a 20 or 30 year old can do anymore, I am normally ahead of many other 57 year old guys... i.e. I am very distant from becoming a "couch potato". Your correct, much of it is in the mind even though the body does have it's say.
There is not really anything "wrong" with women my age at all. The problem arises because most of the women my age that I have met and had relationships with are not "kinky" or very adventurous from a sexual standpoint. Most of them tend to be very vanilla (I am not). Maybe it has just been my luck or maybe it is the norm... I really do not know but that is been my experience.
It was Ima who mentioned the lubrication and the crankshaft (I'm kinda a car "nut")
As with you, there is always a part of me that is in my childhood.

After the death of my husband a couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting a man 11 years my senior. There was something in the chemistry and a comfort level between us that we were able to open up and discuss our fantasies of things we would like to do... to some they may be considered vanilla, but to us, we have pushed the envelop and found some things that are quite pleasurable. I am thankful for that relationship in that, while I know that it was never meant to be an LTR, I now know how to express my sexuality and sensuality more, which will be for the benefit of me and my hopeful LT partner should there be one...
Never give up hope with the women you may meet who are close to your age. It just may be that something will open up in conversation and you could have a small seedling develop into a full grown rose bush... YOU need to be the catalyst here I think...
I guess I should change my AV to show me flying... one of my favorite things and so freeing... when I have time... sigh!

Thanks for sharing PP... I am glad you had that experience.
Trust me. I work hard at being the catalyst, but the reality of it is that I have not even met someone that wants to grow in that realm. Most of the ladies I have met in the past 4 or 5 years that are my age darn near have been almost prudes (i.e. very undeveloped/closed minded from a sexual perspective). In fact, that is why I came to the Personals here on Lit almost 8 years ago but again, nobody here from Portland that wants an older guy. Unfortunately, it all gets tiring after awhile and you move on to other interests and pursuits. I wish "hope" alone would tale care of it but it does not of course. It takes a "warm body" and an active mind. I did have a brief relationship with a much younger woman a year or so ago that was great sexually but intellectually, we were very incompatible.
I can appreciate what you feel when flying... I used to do some of that myself (as well as jumping out of the airplanes). You just have to make the time to feed the soul...
And with that... off to work on one of my project cars... so my soul will be fed...
