That term just pisses me off to no end.and I can only guess because it is demeaning to both parties. Why be so freakin nasty?? So anyone else have another word for it???

I suppose it depends on what's meant; I've heard "fag hag" used to describe both straight women who want to sleep with gay men and straight women who happen to be friends with and/or just seem to enjoy the platonic company of (a lot of) gay men. In the latter case, the alternative "fagnet" (i.e. "magnet") has been proposed.

Thanks for your replies. None of them really felt right to say. So I won't use any term/word. It isn't a matter of being on the 'pc express' as I like to do and say what I want......... It was a matter of trying to find a BETTER way to mention interests.
I recently realized that for most of my life I have had a gay man in my social circle, and it never bothered me. They always were good friends regardless of their orientation. and quite frankly, the most honest people I have ever known. :)

Hmmm what about "a gay mans female friend " ?

Heck, in Denmark we just say veninde, and that is really the female version of ven (ven = friend).

veninde = ven + inde (where inde is like the German word "in" as in a female teacher aka. Lehrerin ).

But also veninde can mean, you have a girlfriend, but to me when you have a "veninde" then it is a female friend, since our word, for a girlfriend/boyfriend is kæreste, and that means, when you translate the word into English: Dearest(or "dearest" if you prefer the brackets here).

And well the Danes doesn´t have femininum words, but we still have some words, that differentiate, between the genders. But ok, enough of my Danish teachings :)

I actually like the term fag hag...it's funny. I guess if I were a woman I'd be a bit unhappy with the "hag" bit though.

Flame dame is cool :)

As a female friend to my gay roommate and my bisexual mate, I have created the term "lube geisha", as thats what I did when they ran out in medeas res. I hopped up and ran round to the corner adult store(this was in Hollywood, it was right around the corner) grabbed a bottle of Wet and ran back home, saving the day.
Lube geisha is the next level of female friend to gay guys, we are present during play, and can offer such things as damp towels, water, condoms, and of course lube.
All kidding aside, its a hell of a priviledge to be trusted enough to be in that position, and I act accordingly.
