Seems to me that a many of you men seem to think that submissive means doing EVERYTHING a dom wants. That is simply not true.

A person willing to be submissive still is entitled to their opinions and feelings meaning something. Sometimes they might be completely submissive, but that's not a requirement.

I personally do not want a lady who would do everything I command. I want her to have the trust for me where she would be willing to do as many things as she is comfortable with and more if she WANTS.

There's nothing wimpy about that. I'm a strong personality but I don't want a robot. I want a lady who feels and dreams and trusts, and even commands me at times.

Nice to see a dom who GETS it...

... and realizes that, ultimately, the sub is the one with the real power.

Our submission is the dom's privilege, not our responsibility.

A dom is not a dom because he forces me to do as he wishes.

A dom is a dom because he inspires me to acquiesce to his desires, which then, in turn, result in satisfying my own desires as well.

Eloquently put, both of you. I recently came to realize I am a Dom, always have been I suppose, and I'm currently in search of a sub. I agree with you, a slave has its fantasy appeals, but realistically it's the same as having a blow up doll that can move on her own. A relationship where both parties can grow and learn together has so much more to offer.

I am a firm believer in the power of the mind. A slave seems to be willing to set aside free will and fully offer to their Dom. To me this is irregular as everyone should use their will to gain the best pleasures for themselves. In a true submission, the Sub should still possess the abilities of their will but still have the desire to be lead by another. The dominant should lead the sub but not control every single thought the sub has. This is why I feel a dominant side and hope to find a submissive who will explore this relationship with me.

There are slaves over in the BDSM forum that would slap ya all silly for what you said about them.

What I find strange is people who haven't a clue spouting all sorts of nonsense about what THEY think is the real deal.

Its really unsettling how few of the n00bs can actually understand that there is a major difference between the two ideas. I am forced to admit a definite newbie status but I truly believe I can eventually find someone with witch to explore my dominant side. :)

sub vs slave

submission= a person who has freely given their act of submitting to anothers will and desire.
slave= A person who has given up all rights to their body and desires to another without condition.

In my mind a submissive is a gift beyound measure. a slave is a toy to be used as one pleases.
