Didn't get on "Weakest Link"

you missed the Gin question??

My faith in humanity has just been shaken...

You were on Saved By the Bell? ::snickers under her breath::

;)

Juniper dude, but a lot of good that does you now, right? Better luck next time.

I've gotta check that show out, I hear it's a hoot.

Dewar's or J&B?

I'll do either but partial to Dewar's.

Gin? Mostly a woman's drink unless taken straight up and even then, James Bond or not - (Don't ya think he's kinda a sissy sometimes?) - I mean, he is a Brit Puss Boy afterall. Next best thing to women.)

Brit Puss Boy? Depends on who's playing Bond. Sean Connery is FAR from a Puss Boy. :D

*drooling on shoes*

Scotch is a drink. I'm Scottish.

Don't mix them up, or I may have to hurt you...

And I'll only have to use my thumb.

Are you telling me that if go to Scotland and walk up to man in a kilt playing the overture to Brigadoon and ask him if he's British he's going to say "I am, laddie! Ya ken?"

No, Dixon, he will say that he is Scottish. I will say that I am English. We who have a nationality are proud of it. We don't like to be called British. Many, if not most of us consider that we are not.

If there are any Brits on the board that wish to dispute this, please don't expect an answer from me. I am going on holiday for a fortnight and will not be in touch. By the time I return I expect that this thread will be well and truly buried.

Gus.

Good question. I'm not sure. One good way to find out -let's ask the Scots.

Rog and co.: do you think of yourself as Scottish, British/UK subject second? Would you think a foreigner had you pegged wrong if he asked if you were British?

I have sense that Scottish differentness from the rest of the UK is stronger than anything regional or cultural identity differences we have here. But I have no idea to what extent they think of themselves apart from the English. Is it enough even to deny their "Britishness"?

Then again, I have to admit to getting a bit of a "who, me?" reaction whenever a foreigner refers to me as a "Yank". I mean, do I look like a northern oppressor to you? ;)

OK--I can't remeber what the thread started out discussing, but DCL what episode of SBTB were you on and who were you? I hate to admit it, but I've probably seen every episode.

Actually James Bond favours Vodka martinis. Its true. Watch Goldeneye and he asks for a Vodka martini, shaken not stirred, or as Connery would say "Shaken not Shtirred"

Scotts, Brits, hell, I'm still reeling from the day a Chinese friend of mine corrected me on my use of the word "Oriental".

"Maybe we should just keep fucking each other until we're all the same color." Warren Beatty -- "Bullworth"

No hints on SBTB, sorry. Me secret agent man. (The only reason I let that info about that appearance slip is because there are, like, a million episodes, and there's no chance anyone will find me out.)

I would never have missed the gin...

question. That juniper berry almost did me in after many years of Bombay and Bombay Saphire.

I rather think that you lucked out by not getting on that show. I think that it sucks, but what do I know. You are NOT the wekest link!!!!

Hello :)

I watched last night for the first time....

Hated the bitch but was caught up anyway....

The Shebabe loves her - cackled evertime she spoke.

Anyway - it's the pacing that fucks everybody up.

I guess I was running about 85% for last nights questions - but many times stammeringly late. So I would have fucked up like the bar tender.

And so far as banking! Wow! That's where everybody fucks up. At least for now.

I suspect that as the American public gets used to the strategies - the gamesmanship will get some quality in that regard.

But until then the game is a bitch.

Like she is.
