...that when you vote on a poetry submission you are forwarded to a page that says:
Thank You For Voting *******!

To send anonymous feedback to the author, click here.

If you would like to discuss the submission you just read with other Literotica users or even with the person who created it, please visit one of the following forums:

- Story Feedback - discuss your favorite stories.
- Author Hangout - find out more about the authors.
- Amateur Pics Feedback - discuss the sexy pics.
My question is: what about Poetry Feedback and Discussion? Shouldn't there be a link for us too?

Before y'all start talking about the role of poetry in the site and its relative importance or lack there of, let me say that I think this is merely an innocent oversight, and in the sequence of the recent changes in Lit (all the great improvements in the authors' pages, for example), the real question is: who's going to PM Laurel, this time?

While we're at it, and seing this is a literary site, raise your hands if you think there should be a comma after Voting. My page always says "Thank You For Voting Lauren.Hynde!" even when I vote for other people.

This may come as a surprise, but darkmaas has often thought the same thing. However, given my apt grasp of spelling and the use of advanced punctuation such as the semi-colon, I've refrained from saying anything.

Let's get Angeline or Rybka to comment.

I can't comment

because I have to go to sleep now because some people who are really pushy said "go to sleep." And they know who they are. Don't they? So goodnight.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

i noticed. But being a sometimes programmer, I empathize with those who are responsible for the nuances of things such as this. So much code (to write), so little time.

L, send a PM demanding a comma and a link. Then mention that we're willing to compromise by settling for just the link.

D-man--

I was sure that if anyone had noticed it would have been you. ;)

Ange--

You're awake now, so comment.

OT--

That's a very good point, and I'd thought about it, but wasn't sure of just how much difficult it would be to get a comma in there. I know it's probably not easy at all.

I tried logging out before voting on a poem today and got:

Thank You For Voting On This Story!

This means the script replaces the username with "On This Story" for unregistered voters, and if they were to add a comma, we'd get "Thank You For Voting, On This Story!" which would be worse than staying put. :D

Personally I'd rather see Thank You For Voting On This Story! for everyone, registered or not. Except poems (20% of all submissions) aren't stories. Maybe it would be better to have simply:

Thank You For Voting On This Submission!

Maybe I should just shut up.

That's an impressive display of negotiation ability. You should be a wicked diplomat. :D

Lauren,

How about a chat room for you folks that do a lot of back and forth, too? Why wish for a loaf of bread when you can wish for the grocery store?

Don't really know if that would be able to generate enough use, but many of you seem to do a lot of talking. The PM thing is kind of okay, but it seems you have to be on the BB to know when you have one. If chat, does it have PM with it? Never been in one here, so sorry, don't know.

Just a point since you brought it all up,

We already have Chat, so there's no real need to reivindicate any. There are two rooms in there where we can feel at home, and where some of us frequently meet: Stories&Authors and Literary Salon. We can create new rooms with or without private passwords and we can send 1on1 private messages.

Besides, some of us chat all the time in e-mails and using various IM programs. (My handles are in my author page, by the way)

There's a special thrill about chitchatting on the bulletin board, though. All the witty remarks stand for all eternity engraved in cyberspace, most silly ones are edited before anyone even see them.
