Richard brought it up and now i have to know - how many of you went to your high school prom?

i held the anti-prom in which me and all of my friends dressed up in our prom dresses and went bowling. it was great fun.

i had the dress, the shoes, everything to go.. but due to a break up, and thinking the idea was kinda lame anyway,me and some friends went up to the beach, got buzzed on Purple Passion, and had a blast.

I started going to the prom in the 10th grade. Pissed my older sister off as it was her senior prom.

you had friends in High schoool????

NO FAIR

;)

I didn't go cause I was a major nerd. some might say I stil anm. I prefer to say " late bloomer"

*looks arround innocently*

I was prom queen.

I went to my prom. It was fun... dinner, dancing, a harbour cruise on a casino boat, and then breakfast the next morning.

I remember the pants I wore after the dressy part.. they made my ass look good. Too bad they don't fit anymore.

Wot's a prom?

Gee, the joy of going to a boys only school.

I went to several different senior dances (er, with several different partners too), but none of them has the "prom" big deal aspect that the Us seems to do.

Went but all I remember are the pics of me and Hunny all dolled up beforehand. It was a thoroughly unmemorable prom. Didn't even sneak out to a motel afterwards. *sighs*

Ahhh...the fond memories of prom...

I went to both my junior and senior proms with the same guy...but we didnt really stay at the actual prom itself very long. We showed up, made our entrance, snapped our pictures to prove we had been there and then made a dash for the hotel where we partied all night and were of COURSE horribly drunken and sexually lewd.

:p

Nope, no prom for me...
I always ran around with older people then I was...
I was in clubs when i was 16...couldn't imagine doing something as lame as going to a school function.
Looking back now, I wish I had stayed a child just a little bit longer...
Enjoyed watching & helping both of my boys go...:)

I went, because that's what you were "supposed" to do. Back then I cared (even though I didn't know a soul, having only been at that school a year). I remember thinking "what the fuck am I doing here" We stayed for about a half hour, left, went to a hotel room at the beach, and did the usual.

Fond memories? Nope. Not really.

no. i never had any friends in high school, never fit in, the usual. i didn't even want to go to my graduation, but my family forced me to, saying i would regret it later. i never should have gone.

Hey, we've had a few threads over on the general board about if you went to prom or not! I bet this thread belongs over there, doesn't it?

Cheyenne, shut up. It's getting old.

No problem, I believe I've made my point with the 5 or 6 threads on the front page of the bdsm board which really should be general board threads according to the "rules" here.

That is what censorship is, selectively applying the rules to your own benefit. It is here at bdsm. If you people like that here though, no problem. Just don't fool yourselves into thinking the moderation is done always according to the "rules."

Not BDSM. Please transfer to the GB.

maybe its just me, but...

I read bunny's poll as implicitly posing the issue: " are people in/curious about the lifestyle less likely do participate in a emphatically mainstream activity such as the prom"????

thus, there is a valid BDSM lifestyle issue here if we chose to discuss it.

Fertile imagination there!

That's a much bigger stretch than discussing a pissing match between Founding Mod Cym and Soon To Be Outgoing Mod MissT, don't you think?

I did not go to any of the proms
in fact by the time my senor prom came up I was in VN

I stopped going to school functions in later Jr High

why?

Cause I didn to feel I fit in
I was and am a good dancer

I was just NOT mainstream

and yes I had already had my first, second etc.
D/s experences

Hm, I went to the prom with a guy who was into Alastair Crowley. We danced a lot, both during and after Prom, totally ignoring most of the promgoers who danced little and mostly made sure they weren't sweating too much to be gorgeous once they got to their hotel rooms.

Although this guy seems like perhaps we were more compatible than we realized, psychosexually, I don't have any scandalous tales to tell.
