ok, i was just watching CNN (there's nothing better on) and they were talking about the Grieneder case in Massechusettes. Grieneder was convicted of 1st degree murder after killing his wife. one of the things focused on by CNN was peoples' testimony that "internet porn" was found on his computer. in the actual case, i think that it was merely used to show he had a "secret life", but the media hasn't show much else having to do with that "secret life, just the "internet porn". to me, i seems like they're saying that the porn eventually drove him to kill his wife and that really pisses me off! if porn leads to homicide, everybody here would be in jail, half for being serial killers, and there'd be ten times the number of teenage killers!! it's total bullshit!

Doc Greineder is a wealthy and successful allergist at a top Boston hospital (or was). He lives in the rich, mostly white suburb of Wellesley (ok, technically now he lives at the state's maximum security prison in Walpole).

He started visiting prostitutes a few years ago, when as he described it on the witness stand, his wife lost interest in sex (they were both in their 50s). He also solicited people over the Internet for group sex. And yes, he did look at Internet porn.

The prosecution maintains that his motive for killing his wife is that she discovered his trysts with prostitutes (which he admitted on the witness stand), and he feared the loss of his reputation, his marriage, his career and the respect of his three adult children _ so he hit her over the head with a hammer and slashed her throat while they were on their daily walk at a nearby park.

I think the whole Internet porn thing was overplayed by the media and it was the dalliances with prostitutes that were the key.

BTW, Dirty Doc Greineder was found guilty of first degree murder on Friday and sentenced to life without parole (there is no dp in Mass.). It was interesting however, that during a post verdict interview, one of the jurors said he did not think Internet porn drove him to do it. The juror, who I paraphrase, basically said lots of people look at porn and it doesn't make them kill.

I am addicted to Court tv!!!

But anyways I didn't think that Dr. Greineder's sex life had anything to do with his trial! You can be a pervert without being a murderer!

I don't agree with the verdict however. I don't think he murdered his wife Mabel, and I don't think the police looked at anyone besides him, nor the VERY similar serial murders in that exact area. I don't think Dr. Greineder is capable of murder. I hope he gets a more fair trail with an appeal. His sex life should not have been even allowed in that court room, while the serial murder evidence was deemed inadmissible. Neither the prosecution nor the defense could come up with a logical or lame motive as to why he would kill his wife.

I feel bad for his three children Britt, Colin, and Kirsten who have to live without their Mother... and their father.
