I just submitted my first story to Laurel via the new format. And I am not sure I did the right thing. When I push the submit button I was omg.. no no I'm not sure anymore.

You will say what is the big deal. Well I started to write for fun this summer because I was bored, french is my native language, but I can say I am not too bad at english either. I am not a writer, this is just a hobby for me. Some friends have read my story and told me I should post it. I keep asking myself is it good or are they just saying that to not hurt my feelings. I guess I am bit unsure of myself.

After 2 months of asking myself if I should do it. I filled up the form and push the submit button, what the hell was going through my mind..god only knows..but I did it..and now i'm not sure anymore.

Am I paranoid?? Or is it normal to get that uncertainty of your work when submiting a story/poem??

(Sorry for ranting, but it's 1h30 am here..and I need to get this out of my system before going to bed..)

Yup that is the way it works...

Push that button...Phut...then regret the action as soon as it is sent.

((((((((hugs)))))))).

Dont worry I feel the same every time. LOL.

Thank you

I can go to sleep now, knowing I'm not that crazy afterall.

*Big hugs ezzy*

I'd say "yes" to both of these. It sounds to me like you are a bit paraniod. It can be thrilling, exciting, and nerve wracking when you submit something for the first time...especially if only friends have read your work before. Have you ever submitted your work to any of the volunteer editors to look at first? It may help easy your nerves about the "quality" of your stories. I know that I, too, am my worse critic. lol :)

You are welcome!

(I made no qualifying statement concerning your sanity, or mine LOL).

Becca is looking for flights for me, and talking on the IM.

EZ Damn Cracks Smillies is down.

Tiggs, I had it edit by 2 dear friends of mine who do editing as a career, but not by the literotica volunteer ones. Maybe I should of?!? Oh well, too late now, I push the submit button, que sera sera..

I was suggesting a Lit viewer, not because I thought they may edit better than your friends, but because you stated you weren't certain of their honesty. Like I mentioned, I am my worse critic. (Have been for many years on most anything I do.) If I have a friend read a story or a post in the RP board, I always wonder if they honestly think my work is good or if they are trying to spare my feelings. I wish to be a published author someday, so I always have that train of thought in the back of my mind whenever I write anything. :)

You did the right thing! I had the same thoughts about my first posted story.

When you see it posted, all doubts go away. And the first fanmail will blow your mind!

Thank you

Thanx Tiggs, next time I will for sure send it to the lit volunteering editing. If I ever submit another story that is. =o)

Thanx Skibum, I hope the response will be good if it's ever posted..=o)

You did the right thing, passionnee. I logged on to that 'submit' screen three times before I completed the task. Now the wait, that's tough. Ten days and counting. I want to see my work on screen! Let us know when your's appears, will you? See you around. And BTW, your English is fine. Much better than my French!
