Anyone remember good 'ol Dick Tracy? And how hot his girlfriend-then-wife Tess Trueheart supposedly was?

I once had something I started writing but then lost my groove on. The concept originated from a short story I read once, in which an enemy of Tracy does a home invasion of the house when only Tess is there. For anyone who knows, it was called Homefront.

My basic concept was that Brow Jr. sneaks into the house, and when Tess comes home, he confronts her, intending to use her as a hostage for a showdown with Tracy. However, noticing how much of a MILF she is (she's in her mid-thirties with a son by this time), he decides on a different plan. When Joe, the son, unfortunately, comes home, he uses him as leverage to force Tess to give herself to him. He secretly tapes the encounter, and blackmails her into meeting him weekly, as a sort of ultimate revenge against Tracy.

Beyond that, I didnt plan. I did write the first part of the story...anyone who wants to take this idea up, I can send what I wrote so you can see what I'm going for.

"Meanwhile, on the other side of town..."
I would like to see Breathless Mahoney (No Face) rise from the grave, as she faked her own death.
She's still a tease, but she (Madonna) really let her looks go (her face was badly burned in a warehouse fire).

The TV series did have Tess marry Dick (no name jokes), but it never really worked out and they got divorced (before marriage had to sleep in twin beds with end table between them).
Since this takes place in the 20s to 30s, the depression is part of the story (no alimony).

Well, I suppose the TV series and the comic strips have different continuity...in the comic strip they're still married. I was going off the latter's continuity...

I actually had the story set in an unspecified time...at LEAST the 50's because that was the era when they got married. But to each his/her own...

It also took place in New York, but it should have taken place in "Old Chicago" (with Al Capone and the mob).

By the way, the term "Dick" for a detective came from the comic.

Reminds me of Blondie and Dagwood. I mean the woman is HOT and stacked and Dagwood, the nerd, gets that? Yeah, my favorite story is Mr. Dithers banging her so Dagwood doesn't get fired! SMILE

Haha, exactly! It kinda gets boring to see clean-cut good guy Tracy being the only one to get that....

Anyone have ideas to tack onto this?

If you mean Breathless Mahoney, she was pretty much a tease, so let's go further and call her a slut, then everyone on the force can have "a piece of the action" (not just Big Boy Caprice).

Blondie started out as "Red" (name of another character later called Goldie Gold).
She had red hair, and was smart but played dumb.
When the movie Born Yesterday came along, she was modeled around the main character.
Then came Gracie Allan who later died her hair blonde (she said it changed color from the sun), and from then on she was blondie, she also has some Gene Harlo elements in her personality.

My point is she was rather plain when he first proposed, but aren't they all (Sue Storm without makeup included)?

No, I was referring to Tess. Like I said before, I'm thinking the comic's continuity, not the movie.

In the strip "No Face"'s identity was not portrayed by any one specific character, but what was know was the sex was male.

Being the "barefoot and pregnant" times when the strip came out, Tess was not an essential character therefor had little part in the strip (not referred to as comic because it was not a magazine).
This was the time Bat Girl wasn't even conceived yet (originally Bat Woman from another dimension).

Since Tess Trueheart only got her popularity from the movie, I would go with that inspiration.
There were plenty of cameos in the film.

I beg to differ. Tess had her shining moments in the strip where she was integral in taking down the villain. She wasn't a heroine, but she wasnt exactly a damsel in distress either.

And besides, like I said, the story in mind takes place later in the century than what most people know Dick Tracy for. Since a video camera/camcorder is involved, it'd have to be at least the 90's.

I guess if "Smallvill" can have the Internet, Web cams, DVDs and mini DVDs, and spy satellites, I guess it could work for Tracy, but I wouldn't set it too far (90s sound about right), even if it's tempting to do so with Sony's X-Ray cameras with Infrared filters (infrared improves X-ray clarity, not included).

By the way, the Peeping Tom Act was made just for these cameras, so even if you legally buy one (illegal in some regions), it's illegal to use it to see through clothing.

NASA is currently working with this technology to make a 3D map of the universe, see greater detail on the moon and other planets, and see what we can find out about black holes (an alternate theory of the creation of our galaxy).
