This has been bugging me for weeks now, but I really need help. I can't remember any of the characters' names (hence the difficulty in finding the story), only random bits of the plot. I don't even remember what category I found it in or how I came across it. I'm pretty sure it had hints of fantasy in it, I'm just not 100% positive if it was in Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Here's what I remember:
- It's definitely a story of two kingdoms against each other. At some point, the other manages to capture the whole royal family and ships them to the captor's native... country. The defeated royal family are made to walk in a procession in which they were handcuffed.
- The king of that defeated country is definitely a sleazeball. Him and his sons were definitely taking advantage of a nervous niece/cousin whose husband had been killed before she was even married to him.
- The lead girl pretends to be that cousin in the first chapter. She tells the cousin to pretend to be her, the princess, so she was safe. She pretends to be a governess/caretaker/lady-in-waiting of some sort. Before this whole scenario, I know they were escaping the impeding invasion and their actual governess was killed.
- The lead girl was definitely pushed off the balcony by her father when he found out that she had slept with their invader, now turned monarch/ruler.
- I know in the last few chapters, the brother of the lead girl, asks for help from the some other kingdom with ships. The nervous cousin was raped and was almost half-dead when they found her.
- Oh this whole thing started because the lead girl's brother abducted the main dude's sister, raped her, sent the bed sheets to him as proof of their marriage and would not give her back to her brother.
- I remember that the royal family, which the lead girl is a part of, was now property of their invader. He was definitely receiving paperwork on his noblemen wanting some of the princesses.
- OH OH and there was a gay prince there. I think his tongue was either cut off or he was sent to some faraway place to be killed or castrated or something. His brothers did that to him because they found him sucking off some other dude. I know the main guy asks him for help for something.
Please, I know this really isn't much to go on, but I forgot to add that story to my favourites and it was such a wonderful story. I just want a chance to reread it again. Thanks for anyone who read this!
