How do I describe a woman's bathing suit for a story?

My username says it all. I'm specific about the kind of swimsuit that turns me on: a one-piece, v-cut at the hips, with solid straps across an open back. There's no universal name for it but the medallistback, pulseback or muscleback by Speedo are close fits.

Do I drop a brand-specific name and let the reader Google it?

Do I describe the individual features along with the wearer's body?

Could I post sample writing here?

Thank you.

Interesting, never thought of this!:devil:

This.

Remember not everyone shares you exact kink, and if you make to too specific it will detract from the flow of it. You need to give them enough information to render the image in their mind without stopping the flow of the story.

That's the beauty of the written word, it allows people to see a story in their own way.

As for Google, the last thing you want people to do in the middle of a story is break off to look something up, especially with erotica, people just don't have that many hands.

"Her little yellow string bikini was wadded up ...

(A) on the floor."

(B) in the sand."

(C) in her dresser drawer."

How about you find a picture and post that into your story?

Some ideas:

1. Look up examples of the type of suit you are talking about offered for sale, and note the specific words used to describe it on the Site pages where it's offered for sale. Then look up synonyms for those words in an online Thesaurus. Look up the fabric description, and look up synonyms for those as well. Then you will have a nice vocabulary of words you can use in your story without repeating yourself too much.

2. Think about what it is you like so much about this type of suit. Put in words what you like. Think of 5 or more different things about what you like about the way this suit looks on a woman's body. Or the way the woman's body looks in the suit. Incorporate those descriptions.

3. If the story is told from the point of view of the woman wearing the suit, think about how it makes her feel -- sexy, exposed? Does she like the way the sun or air touches her skin when she wears the suit? Is the fabric thin? Come up with several descriptions.

4. Think about the ways that people around the woman will react when they see her in the suit, and describe that.

Good question and thought. I wass thinking of a story and if want to message me about please do so. I was thinking of the thin high waist like lifeguards wear maybe thinner than the real ones

I've had this problem before when describing clothes or other things. What I did was google them and look for the descriptions or reviews about them. It helps to get a good idea of what to write in your own personal way.

I think the kind of swimsuit you are describing is called the "maillot" style for competitive swimming. In stories, when swimwear comes up it is important to me to know what the suit looks like, how it shimmers or what drew your eye... but also, how it fits and accentuates the wearer. Does it flatter a particular body part or is it enhancing many parts of her figure. What do you find you fixate on as you 'stare' at her in her suit. The two descriptions of suit and wearer should compliment each other and create a vivid image in the reader's mind. :)

What would you write do describe this suit on this model?

I recommend that you spend only a small number of words on describing how it looks; spend most of your description on how it makes you feel. The same image will arouse different feelings in different people. Go directly to the feelings you are trying to convey and the readers will be able to share in your arousal.

I would describe what it in terms of how the features turn me on, by what they reveal or tease at revealing. Rather than brand names, or in addition, you might mention an actress in a poplar movie that wears one like it

Lost

As used in dialog:

"Where is your swimsuit little girl?"

"I dunno, Daddy, l musta lost it," said his 18-year-old daughter.

"Who was in the pool with you?"

"Nobody, just Greg, Donna, James, Ed, Lucy, Quint, Danny, Mike, Bob, Ellen, Orson, Zeke, and Henry."

W. Focus on the details that make it unique, like the v-cut at the hips and the solid straps across the open back. You could describe how these features complement the wearer's figure, adding depth to your character's appearance and personality. It's all about painting a vivid picture that fits naturally into your narrative. Maybe draw inspiration from a memorable beach day or poolside moment—it adds that personal touch readers love.

I would agree with some of the suggestions above, but here's the thing. Broad-brush generalization with a lot of bell-curving, but men tend to be turned on by the visual and women tend to be turned on by the emotional. My point is that you want to do both - describe the swimsuit and tell how it makes her feel to be wearing it (presumably in public?). Bonus points if a cute boy looks at her in the suit and has some emotional reaction aside from 'I'd hit that!'

Hmmm. And here I thought I was alone in liking a sexy, kinky swimsuit. Go figure.

Does "Fuck yeah, I'd hit that!" count as more of an emotional reaction?

I like one piece swimsuits that appear to be in danger of accidental disintegration. There's no much of real examples, but I kind of have a sketch pad full of those. Describing one... ugh. They're basically intricate web of string holding some tiny pieces of fabric in place by miracle. Going beyond that would explode into a confusing half thousand words expedition into the futile, and I say that not for the lack of trying. But I don't speak English, so...

A long time ago I had a girlfriend who was a competitive swimmer, and one day with other friends she came over to my house and swam in the pool wearing one of her practice suits. It wasn't a particularly sexy cut, standard one-piece functional practice swimsuit, but it obviously had gotten so much use that it was rather threadbare, and after it got wet it looked like little more than a thin coat of paint. The sculpture of her body was completely revealed. And I mean, to the degree that it was clear she was not shaven (nobody was back then as far as I know). It was all I could do to restrain myself and not be over-obvious in my appreciation. I still remember that. It's not always the specific cut or color of the suit, it's the way it looks on a woman in the moment, and the impression she gives while wearing it.

I would suggest looking at the picture of the suit you are trying to describe and being conscious of what attracts you to that type of suit and putting it into words. Is it the cleavage that is shown or its high cut? How much of her butt cheeks are revealed? Does it make her legs look longer? Is it the fact that she has muscular abs? How do her breasts move when she walks or how does her ass wiggle? What does it look like when it's wet?

I'd detail how the swimsuit accentuates the wearer's body where applicable. For example,

'-Her bikini top looked tiny in comparison to the large d-cup breasts she possessed. Her curves overshadowed the colour, white, against her ebony skin, and I knew the colour would vanish as soon as she dove into the pool. Sure enough, as soon her skin hit the water, the colour drained from the bikini and we all saw an almost-naked Amazon goddess wearing a see-through bikini, her hairless pussy contained under a triangle of nearly-transparent material.-'

Or perhaps,

'His speedo was a bright red and even though he had a swimmer's build, my eyes were drawn to the bulge under the fabric, like it was straining to get out of a tiny cage. I could tell he was aroused by the outline of what appeared to be an eight or nine-inch cock. I must have been lost in thought because I was nudged by my friend, and I quickly refocused on the instructor's words.'

I seldom know what brand people wear for their swimsuits. The only things people ever name-drop on this site are sex toy and lingerie companies, like Adam and Eve, or the Pornstar lifelike dildos, so unless Adam and Eve make swimsuits, or at the very least, C-strings, I wouldn't bother mentioning the brand.

I go with what others have said. Less is more. What might be more interesting is a description of what you feel (or what your character feels) ABOUT the suit. She wore a red one-piece that accentuated the curve of her ass, making me want to run my hand along it. I loved the way her breast swelled above the top of the suit, hinting at the magic I knew I'd find beneath it.
Something along those lines. This is your kink, experience it and put it in a way I could relate, that would convey to me what it does for you. Who knows, I may see it too, and discover something new about myself.
Just a thought. Please be kind, I'm new here, trying to learn the ropes.....
