Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is not taking calls from Vice President Kamala Harris about storm recovery just over a week after Hurricane Helene hammered parts of his state.

A source familiar with the situation said he was dodging the Democratic presidential nominee’s calls because they “seemed political,” according to a DeSantis aide.

“Kamala was trying to reach out, and we didn’t answer,” the DeSantis aide told NBC News.

Because, gosh darn it, we wouldn't want Dims to get any credit for anything. We'd rather our voters die so we can blame Biden!!!

Wow…it’s almost like when—that one time at band camp—the GOP blew their foot off when Donny The Immigrant Slayer told them to kill their own immigration bill. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Florida is a coastal state with everything much easier to reach than small town and rural Appalachia, and it currently has the budget to pay its own bills. All the resources that FEMA has left after housing illegals are better spent where they're needed most.
It's a shame that Trump diverted all the spare cash from FEMA to build camps for illegals, otherwise there would be plenty spare for hurricane relief. But at least it meant that he can blame the Democrats!

Kamala should travel to Florida, stand outside the governor’s mansion, and throw rolls of paper towels at it.

Maybe that would be better???

🤔

Side note:

This is just like if Kamala had gone to the border more during the migrant surge: She would have been treated the same.

There is no placating / satisfying MAGAts.

How could we solve that problem? Could it start with sending them all back and stop welcoming more illegals with debit cards and hotel rooms?

Proof? Any? Any at all? Or is this an opinion? But even IF they have the budget to pay their bills, more help from the Feds is a bad thing? Like getting things cleaned up and rebuilt faster isn't desirable? FFS.

ullshit. Show me one legitimate source that has proven this to be true. I'm all for holding people's feet to the fire when they screw the pooch, but doing so on the strength of an unsubstantiated sound bite from some jackass is stupid in the extreme.

I'll start the hashtag right now....#ImpeachDeSantis...because to knowingly allow your constituents to suffer and not try to get them relief, well, I think that we know that this is a sign of unfitness for office and should be considered at least a "misdemeanor" in the sense that it was originally meant (not in the usual statutory sense). At the very least, it's nonfeasance (yes, I searched that term), that is, a failure to take one's obligated or dutiful course of action.

The SSP is a FEMA/DHS cooperative fund established and allocated by Congress. FEMA disaster funding is separate and is also allocated by Congress.

The conflation and obfuscation by the right is deliberate to advance their narrative rather than calling attention to any actual issue.

How do you walk and breathe at the same time?

Climate change will eventually destroy and flood nearly all of the state of Florida. For the next few centuries, residents there will be repairing damage after disasters, with slightly or much less repaired each time, until the state is depopulated. It currently has a booming economy. The people already there can clean up the mess they created with a population boom in a state becoming less habitable.

This shows an approximate new coastline with 60 meters of sea level rise. The diamond shape is apparently a glitch.

Your whole post quoted above can be called misdirection. What the hell does that have to do with your prior statements? The ones I challenged you on? I'll answer my own question, not a fucking thing. FFS.

Big portions of Florida are no longer suitable for cheap housing construction methods. Some coastal areas there will have to be totally abandoned.

It's time to face that reality.
