But, to be fair to the Governor, he does need some sort of threat toward teachers in order to sicken or kill more of his citizens, especially those kids who can't even vote during his Presidential bid.

“The issue is that ... superintendents and school board members are not state employees. Therefore, the only way the state could tailor the financial penalty would be to withhold an amount of funding equal to their salaries,” she said. “In that event, it is possible that the officials who are violating the law could decide to take funding from other needs in their own district, in order to pay themselves salaries. It wouldn’t be fair to the students, but it would technically be possible.”

This could be the next move.

Yes,.I guess DeSantis figured out(someone around him who is way smarter on the law told him) it is a violation for Federal Labor Law to withhold pay when someone is working.

So,. authoritarian DeSantis now has to save face and take out his anger for his own people(the Administrators in schools and teachers, who get paid by local and state municipal paychecks) who have the sense to follow health and public safety guidance. They are doing the right thing....DeSantis is being political and doing the wrong thing for everyone but himself. Where oh where has this happened before?

And guess what will happen.... NOTHING. Because he is a turd in the bag.
