The rule around here is: only bet for housework/favors, and we don't pick our horses until they're going down the track to the post. Why? Because we're horse people, and to hell with the handicappers, sometimes you can tell more from how the horse is moving and acting getting ready for the race than you can from paper.

So far, we have yet to NOT pick the winner for the last 15 years, between my mother, sister, brother and I.

And we only get to pick one horse each.

LOL... my brother and I were watching that, watching them load the 2 horse, Mint Malibu (I think, lol) and I said something along the lines of "That horse is going to hurt someone in a minute."

She dropped her rider at the gate... and when we watched the replay of it, we both fell out giggling... she dropped her right shoulder, jumped left, and sent her rider ass over teakettle. We've both had it done so many times off our mare that we felt the bruises for the jockey.

I love horses... they have such unique personalities.
