Der Ring Das Nibelungen

Anybody here ever hear of "Der Ring Das Nibelungen", AKA "The Ring of the Nibelung", AKA "The Ring Cycle"? It's a quartet of operas by Wagner. I'm only familiar with the first two, but they are just RIPE for erotic pastiche.

F'r example, the whole sequence of events occurs because three females(The rhinemaidens) use their gorgeous bodies to torment an ugly dwarf(Alberich). That'n can be played all sorts of ways.

but yeah, this could be interesting. it requires greater familiarity w/ the libretto than i possess i'm afraid.

and they were playing the whole series of 4 on PBS. He was wearing a new goalie mask he recently bought and fell asleep while wearing it. So, guess you have his opinion--the Philistine. LOL. Should have started him out with something light and Italian.

Wagner is chock full of erotic imagery. A lot of his opera is based on German folklore.
