As more evidence comes to light every day of the collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, some Democrats want former British spy Christopher Steele to testify before Congress on the 35 page dossier he produced.
While some in the intelligence community initially dismissed the dossier, and those without intelligence such as Trump and his cabal called it outright fake, those with brains have come to see the pieces are coming together. The recent revelation that Trump campaign members were in communication with Russian agents, possibly coordinating the release of Clinton emails, has led to a 180 degree turn in the outlook of the dossier.
Representative Jim Himes of Connecticut had this to say about getting Steele to testify:

“The work that he did, the dossier, is still largely unconfirmed, but the more time that passes, the more that dossier acquires credibility,” he said. “I do think that we’ll want to talk to Christopher Steele and at least understand where he got a lot of his information because it gets to something we don’t talk a lot about, but which is really important -- which is, do the Russians have some sort of leverage on President Trump which is financial or otherwise?”
