After years of trying to paint Bush and his admin as a bunch of dumb hicks, his supposedly mentally superior VP shoots his lawyer pal on a hunting trip in Texas. And there's an attempted press cover-up that even Marlin Fitzwater is being critical of.

This is satisfaction on a silver platter for the Left; you could hardly have written it up any better. But, will they take advantage? Can anything besides an undoctored video of Bush fucking a dead sheep help the Dems?

(Shit, with what this country has tolerated up until now, would that even be enough?)

Fuckin' hell. I blame this double thread post on my ISP.

These threads are like one of those puzzles in the paper. Can you spot all the differences?

On NPR today the Cheney shooting spree was joked about. :D

A democratic wetdream would be a platform that doesn't reflect the far left end of the spectrum.

This whole issue is stupidity and those that harp on it do ten times more damage to democrats than republicans.

i always object to people saying this harms us more than them ... but i do agree it's a total non story in a political sense ... it was completely bizarre and gave comedians some good material but i couldn't see why people were trying to make political ground on it

Maybe because after six years of this crap we are still left scratching our heads as to whether A) We have a bunch of lying thieves in office, or B) we have a bunch of dumbasses running the country.

Or both.

It's a non-story that became a big story that's being entirely overexposed.

I wouldn't be surprised if the elephants were driving the continued coverage to make us all so sick of it that the Dems can't use it.

I don't mind that end of the spectrum much.

Sure, there's some problems. But it beats the alternative.

That's okay. I totally stand by my comment.

Focusing on a non-issue instead of the countless real issues is what drives people away from the democratic party.

so what would a hunting accident that you were never going to find any condemning details from prove?

it was a friend of cheneys that he shot ... he was always going to come out and defend cheney

and to be honest even though i can't stand cheney i could never believe the accident was anything other than just an honest accident

there's a lot of things cheney can be attacked for and should be attack for but if this hunting accident meant anything politically it was probably a positive for the republicans ... took a lot of attention away from the UN calling for guantanamo bay to be closed

It nice to see that comedians are living well making jokes about this administration. What about the rest of us?
