Democratic socialists ignore Cuban protesters railing against communist dictatorship

Thousands of Cubans marched on Havana’s Malecon promenade and elsewhere to protest food shortages, high prices and the coronavirus outbreak in one of the biggest anti-government demonstrations in the country ever.

And who isn't speaking out about these protests?

Aren't they suppose to tell us the protesters are wrong? That socialism is great? Everyone gets to share and share alike in the utopia that is one for all and all for one - unless you're a politician, in which case you get more.

I know, the Democratic Socialist are using the Left's go-to strategy of 'If we ignore it, so will everyone else, and it'll just go away,' because, you know, it's working so well for Kamala down at the border.

They openly support the core ideals and values of socialism, they're DSA members who push those ideals and values at the federal level of our government.

That's because being democratic vs. revolutionary is the primary and only real distinction between the two.

They see the violent overthrow of the bourgeoisie by the proletariat as an illegitimated means of achieving the socialist utopia.

They do however see democracy as a way to legitimize the destruction of the bourgeoisie by the STATE either directly or by facilitating/enabling "mostly peaceful protest" aka political terrorism.

This has become super evident since Covid gave them extra cover to do exactly that.

If they don't pull a Tienanmen Square on the protesters, there will be more protests until at least some of their grievances go away. No one that we know of...but shots have been fired. I did see a video of a protester carrying a bloody American flag and a wounded man being carried to safety. Don't know what the wound was caused by. The police and paramilitary forces are armed and the government has told them to rise up against the protesters.
