They're not making up an issue; and they're not doing it just to butt into your life; and it's not the flu; and some such measures (if technically possible) might have saved a lot of lives back when flu was pandemic.

What else have they got if not good old fashioned blind fear of Big Brother? Demanding that Jill Biden pretend it's 1952 didn't work. Calling her husband senile hasn't convinced anyone who didn't already hate him. "What about the deficits" is out of gas - too many people noticed deficits always go down under Democratic presidents and up under Republican ones. CRT-bashing is working, but appeals to racism always get a backlash sooner or later. But you can ALWAYS count on "the government is coming to get you!!!1111!!!!"
