Deleting posts

You can't actually delete a post, what you can do is edit it. You have to click the edit button and then just delete what you posted. Put a smilie icon in the place of the words....

Hope that helps some.

Does anyone know how to delete posts ?
Is it possible ?
Thanks in advance

A bit more information and background for you:

It is possible to delete posts -- it just isn't possible here at Lit for the users to delete posts. Moderators and administrators can still delete posts when required.

Lit was reconfigured a couple of years ago to disable the user delete function because it was discovered that deleting the first post in a thread deletes the entire thread and thus screws up the post counts for other users --post counts that are required to enable avatars and custom titles which are important to some people.

Lit also is configured to never purge old posts for the same reason -- virtually every post since they switched to the vBulletin software four years or so ago is still here, although some have been moved to hidden forums that only the site administrators can access so they appear to be deleted to the users.

Other vBulletin based around the internet WILL allow users to delete their own posts, so what you learn about using vBulletin here won't necessarily help there.

Where you are allowed to delete posts, you still need to click the edit button to get to the "delete this post" button.
