Hi Literotica!

I've decided to delete my accent with the understanding that all of my published voice clips will go with it.

I don't wish to make my decision any kind of ~~> dramatic exit <~~ but I do understand that there may be a number of listeners who are surprised or even disappointed in the disappearance of my work. There, there.

I'm working on allowing a 'friend' ;) I made here to re-publish my voice clips under another name, but thought I would simply give the heads up here about my exit, merely for anyone who might want to save a clip or two.

Thanks for everything. You're truly scrumptious.

Honey

Ever notice how the thickest English accents seem to go away when they sing?

;)

A lot of them sound Straight outta KANSAS!

How long to the point of no return?

I'm feeling more "Frankie Goes to Hollywood" at the moment.

I try hard to decipher what Ozzie is saying when he speaks, but I understand every word of Crazy Train. But, then, that might be from bantering with busybody...

I know where you're from, you don't have an accent, to me.

I had something of a rural accent as a child, because of where I lived. Not much of one, but enough to embarrass my parents. Oxford rather diluted that, though. It's a shame, in a way. Now I sound like any other middle class Englishman, and the rural southern accent is dying away as the commuter belt spreads and spreads.

So many accents are being deleted. But Labov's classic Martha's Vineyard study shows that one can fight back against it.

Please don't make me google 'Labov's classic Martha's Vineyard study.'

I had an English teacher in middle school who felt it her duty to squash the Southern accents from all her charges. My accent was affected by it, but it is not completely gone. Apparently. ;)
