It should block those too. Other than that, when you see his name, just delete the PM.

I added somebody to my ignore list and I still received pm from him. How to block just certain users without blocking all others except those on my buddy list?

Did you make sure they are on your ignore list? That should stop the PMs, too, unless they have multiple accounts?
