I check the vote amount on my membership section daily as that is where I sign in before heading over to the Forum. The votes for my last two entries in a series, had settled at firm numbers for awhile.

In the last few weeks I've noticed that every couple of days that the amount of votes are incrementally reduced dragging the vote down.

I can understand if more votes result in a lower vote total, but already accounted votes are being deleted resulting in a lower vote total.

This doesn't make sense to me. I haven't voted for these two stories, and I can't imagine anyone else out there having an interest in voting multiple times for my stories, so I'm wondering why the Literotica system is deleting votes?

Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks.

Actually just ignore the above plea for help, Laurel explained things. I'm posting her explanation below as a public service to others.

"We have a script that tags fraudulent votes (fraud votes being anytime someone tries to vote for a story more than once by trying to get around our system). If you lost votes and your score went up, chances are that fraudulently placed lower votes were removed. If your score went down, it's possible that overzealous fans were attempting to "help" you (or other stories related to yours, voting in bulk to make it look like "real" voting) by submitting multiple up-votes on your stories.

If you see a story - yours or anothers - that has suspicious-looking voting patterns, please do use the REPORT THIS STORY feature to bring it to our attention and we will run a manual check as well. In the OTHER field, tell us to check the voting. When you report suspicious voting this way, the system will send us a direct link to the story and make it much easier for us to check." - Laurel
