Anyone tuning into Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) interview with former White House press secretary and MSNBC host Jen Psaki on Monday night would be forgiven for thinking they were watching a clip from 2016. Pelosi said she believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin “has something” on former President Donald Trump and that it likely involves money. Sounds familiar, right?

After establishing that Trump “brought disgrace to the White House” and that “we must be sure that he does not step one foot into the White House” again, Pelosi asked, “What does he [Putin] have on Donald Trump that he has to constantly be catering to Putin? Telling Putin to go into these countries, NATO countries.”

“What do you think Putin has on him?” Psaki asked. “I mean, it sure seems like something, as you’ve said a few times, given that he refuses to criticize him, that he seems to be a fanboy of him. Are you worried at all?”

Of course, Pelosi doesn’t believe a word of what she said. Trump’s potential ties to the Kremlin, financial or otherwise, were debunked by special counsel Robert Mueller’s exhaustive 22-month investigation, which ended in March 2019. She is merely laying the groundwork for the Democrats’ plan to defeat Trump in November.

Robert Mueller clearly stated that his report should not be taken as an exoneration of Trump.

Nancy Pelosi is right to be worried about Donald Trump's ties to the Kremlin. For a former President, he is remarkably deferential to Vladimir Putin, so it's not surprising that people question where his loyalties lie.

The Mueller Report did not "debunk" anything, as anyone who read (and understood) it knows. Rather, it made it clear that although they didn't find a smoking gun, there probably was collusion.

Having said that, I consider it entirely possible that Trump would kiss up to Putin the way he always does even if Putin didn't have any dirt on him. That's just what Trump does with people who have the resources and the know-how to manipulate him.

trump would suck Pootins dick to have a trump hotel in Moscow. He would leave NATO for it.

What I am waiting for now is a Biden win and the immediate claim that Pootin helped Biden. Then a Special Council which drags on for the next four years while America burns to the ground.

Cheers

Not at all. Putin may not have pee tapes, but he’s probably at least dangling a future Moscow trump tower and golf course with a waterfall over his weirdly coifed head

By all means, please elaborate

The problem with Mueller was he was too much of a nervous wimp after his report was released. Did you see how much he was shaking when he finally spoke about it to the public?

Mueller allowed Trump and Barr to control the narrative about his report. Big mistake.

The only thing that Pelosi could opine on that a reasonable person would be interested in would be her stock picks.

Pelosi simply observes the obvious.

Trump toasted Russian leaders with Champaign after he was elected, and Trump's cult followers to this day are facilitating Russia's takeover of Ukrainian lands.

The amount of self delusion in this thread is amazing.

The Kremlin has tight control of the GOP. This is newsworthy but not news. We've known for six years. Democracy does not exist at gunpoint. We owe it to the Rosenbergs to execute every politician and sellout guilty of espionage - from the top down.
