Wondering how you lot would define a submissive? I don't know whether I am one or not...

And dominants, what do you look for in a submissive? What sorts of things do you expect your submissive(s) to do, or what do you expect to do to/with a submissive?

Thank you for your help!

I would recommend going over to the BDSM chat section and posing the question over there. You are likely to get a better response. I'm sure you can find some info on this if you search through past threads, too.

I hope you find the answer you are looking for. :)

I consider a submissive someone who doesn't want to give up full control over their lives like a "slave" would, but wants to be controlled more than a "bottom" would.

I think of a bottom as someone who submits, but only in one specific roleplay situation, like teacher/student, fantasy nonconsent, etc. I think of a submissive as someone who submits whenever they're having sex - their Dom/Domme is allowed to dominate them sexually even when a specific roleplay is over. There can also be some nonsexual submission as well. Finally, I think of a slave as someone who submits without the power to say no (well, they can, but it's kind of complicated...) and/or they submit with respect to everyday life as well. For example, they're told how to dress, when to eat, etc.

This is just my opinion and understanding. Some of the things I've descrbied can overlap. For example, a submissive might be told how to do everything outside of the bedroom - when to use the bathroom, what to wear, etc., but they will always have the uncomplicated ability to say no.

As F_W mentioned, do a search in the BDSM boards for more information and other opinions.

Have a look at my latest story on Lit, 'Amelia'. Dom/sub doesn't always have to be like this, but it will give you an idea...maybe it portrays something beyond where you'dlike to go?

old life style says a sub has rights can say no.
A slave has no rights just does what it is told.

Each individual's submission is going to be different. I do not think there is one true definition.
