At least that's what the encarta online dictionary said. But who is to say what the usual standard, type or custom is??? What is normal fo lit would certainly not be normal on a Billy Graham BB. Physical, emotional and mental health may also be a state of mind. As for the rest of that stuff --who knows. I of course consider myself extremely normal.

Normal for most people is the majority. If most people do something, then it's normal.

Personally, I think normal is a fantasy state that someone dreamed up to rate other people or make themselves feel better- it's just not a real thing.

Therefore: normal isn't!!!

In the study of human behavior, all behavior that lies within 2 standard deviations of the mean is deemed normal.... that is going to be 95% of the population. It is only the 2.5% above and below that are considered exceptional (new PC term for abnormal)

Soooo, let's use thinking about sex as an example (I'm making up the numbers here) 1000 people are involved in a research study to determine how often they think about sex.... the range of "scores" is 1 time per day to 200 times per day.... the average is 100 times per day with a SD of 15...... 950 members of the population studied will fall in the range of 70 to 130 times per day and are "normal".... 20 members of the population fall in the range 130 to 145 and 20 fall in the 55 to 70 range and these are classified as "exceptional." The remaining 10 members are equally divided in the range of 0to55 and 145-200 and are classified as "extremely exceptional."

SOOOOOOOO, while we may have some interesting people here, most of us are in fact, NORMAL.
