I saw a thing on one of the cable channels a few weeks ago (History Channel maybe, though might have been Discovery Civilization *shrug*), and they were talking to these people who seem to have way too much free time on their hands as they sit around with these charts and graphs trying to figure out who actually was Woodward and Bernstein's Deep Throat (I guess technically it would've been Woodward's, but you know what I mean).
It all seemed a hoot to me cause all they really had to do was walk down to the corner video store and rent the movie and they'd know right away that Deep Throat was actually Linda Lovelace... (sorry, had to work that stupid joke in here somewhere... And I think I managed to do it as awkwardly as possible, lol)
Anyways...
I've spent a bit of time studying Watergate and I've come to my own conclusion as to who Deep Throat probably is... I figured it had to be someone who APPEARED to be loyal to the Nixonites, but yet was two-faced and enough of a self-preservationist to be able to play both sides of the street. I figure it had to be someone who worked in the White House for the entire period of Watergate (June '72 till August '74), who had access to the information but yet wasn't actually involved in the break in or the cover up. And also it would seem that it has to be someone who is still alive as Woodward and Bernstein have always said they would not reveal the name of Deep Throat until after he/she died.
My analysis left me with 2 names that meet that criteria, and the one I pick as my guess for Deep Throat is.......
Pat Buchanan.
