Nashville's vote was meaningless...

Nashville council members voted down a draft agreement to host the 2024 Republican National Convention Tuesday, effectively removing Nashville from the running.

Milwaukee approved its own draft agreement to host the convention in June, despite some opposition among the city's 13-member Common Council. The Milwaukee council ultimately approved the agreement unanimously.

The Republican National Committee's 2024 site selection panel unanimously recommended Milwaukee last month. The RNC is expected to make a final decision at its Aug. 5 meeting in Chicago.
