Decoding files from binary newsgroups

I have finally found a need to subscribe to a newsgroup....I am supposed to be getting mp3 files but what I'm getting is tons of uncompiled code-looking crap!
I realize this is old school, but this is the first time I've ever played around with newsgroups, and I need some help on how to decode this stuff.....(uuencode)
I have used the "Combine and Decode" function of exchange newsreader.......as well as "Unscramble" I still only have tons of crap and not an mp3.
Anyone?

Many times News groups leave Mp3's in different formats simply becuase if its not in mp3 form its not in violation of any laws try going into winfile and change the file extension to .mp3
