Keli MacIntosh intended to speak before the Grand Traverse County Board of Commissioners
this week with a straightforward demand:
Would the board openly denounce the Proud Boys after the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol?
MacIntosh wanted her own elected officials to stand up.
As she addressed the virtual meeting Wednesday night, the commission’s vice chair,
Ron Clous (R), stepped out of the frame. When he returned into view, he was carrying
a semiautomatic rifle.
MacIntosh, a 74-year-old retired nurse, grew terrified, she told The Washington Post.
Speaking to the Traverse City Record-Eagle, Ron Clous (R) the commissioner said
he reached for his gun in response to MacIntosh’s request.
Commissioner Ron Clous (R) said he would not denounce the Proud Boys,
a far-right group with a history of violence, saying that they “were decent guys

At the Commission meeting - They are deciding about making their county into a
“Second Amendment sanctuary,” or not.
MacIntosh is involved with the local chapter of the liberal advocacy network Indivisible
signed up to speak during a public comment period at Wednesday’s meeting.
Another activist in liberal circles spoke before her, challenging members of the commission
to declare that they were not members of self-styled militia groups.
The commission chair, Rob Hentschel, erupted in response, singling the woman out.
“I am not a member of Proud Boys,” he said. “But I do know a few Proud Boys. "
"I’ve met Black Proud Boys, I’ve met multiracial Puerto Rican Proud Boys and they
inform me they also have gay Proud Boys. I don’t see how that’s a hate group.”
By the time it was her turn to speak, MacIntosh was so rattled that her hands
were shaking, she said.
She scrapped her prepared comments and spoke off the cuff.
"You can say that we don’t have problem Proud Boys around our area - but there are
obviously problem Proud Boys around the country,” she told them. “For them to have
been invited to speak [means that] permission has been given to these activist groups
to do more with their guns than go out hunting.”
That’s when Commisioner Clous (R) left and reappeared, silently bringing his rifle into view.
"Instead of ending with a statement from commissioners that could tone down the rhetoric
“the meeting ended up just stirring people up,” she said. “Poking the bear with a stick is
not the best way to solve our problems.”
It does not seem to matter to the commisioners, that the Proud Boys were one of the
16 groups that took part in the trashing of the Capitol building, and the violence
against the police forces in DC.

Leith, ND fought back against a takeover- Some residents in this Michigan town seem
to be inviting it-
For the few ranchers and farmers who call it home, the town of Leith, N.D., is a quiet
friendly place. With a population of about 20 people, it is a prairie town of unpaved roads,
wheat fields and big sky. Its main landmark was once a railroad, which no longer passes
through the town. Its nearest major city — Bismarck — is more than 70 miles away.
Leith made national headlines, its residents terrorized by a white supremacist intent
on taking over the town.
(The white supremacist pleaded guilty to menacing and terrorizing the town.)
All of the Trump Loyalist politicians, that not only fired up
the crazies, they made use of the crazies, plotted, planned,
and assisted the crazies with the attack on the Capitol building
It is only intelligence and resourcefulness, and long life experience,
that the aims of the crazies did not come to the ultimate proof of
Democrat's fears.
This does not bode well for America- The politicians that enabled the
attack on the Capitol building are still in office. Some of the conspiracy
crazies are the politicians.
Are Americans overlooking the fact that America is infected with more
than coronavirus ?
“It’s very bad,” Sen. .John McCain said.
“This performance with our friend (Trump) out in Phoenix
is very hurtful to me,” McCain said.
“Because what he did was he fired up the crazies.”
Then, again, Sen. John McCain scared-the-fuck out of normal Americans,
by agreeing to campaign with Looney-Bin Sarah Palin, and planning on
making her Vice President. He pulled a Trump move, by pretending that
presidential hopeful, Obama, had farted a plume so powerful and foul,
it was causing McCain to retch.
McCain was following Obama off of the debate stage! Huge audience in public.
He played the clown, as George Bush Jr, did, but he lowered himself to appeal
to the rougher crowd that enjoyed vulgar and juvenile.
McCain was encouraging the divide between sensible, reasonable Republicans
that had America's interests at heart, and those that just wanted to beat Democrats,
just as much as Trump was. McCain's campaign was intent on luring
the Extremist Right wing, just asTrump did. McCain tried to stand out
from the herd of Republican candidates, by making an effort to be seen
as more outspoken, and having less respect for the established Republican
path- both McCain and Sarah Palin claimed to be mavericks. Trump took
that further- Different from all of the rest! From NYC, and not a politician.
Trump is facing a second impeachment but doesn't have a leg affairs director
whipping senate votes for him/anyone on his final WH staff w strong senate
GOP ties. So he is making feints about primarying people but with no actual
apparatus to scare folks with right now.

Trump sicced his goons and gremlins on the Capitol building through other sources,
besides his official White House communications office.
Are Trump's operatives and minions expected to keep their loyalty oath to him,
until his funeral ?
Trump's Imaginary Alternate Universe may not exist in physical reality,
but the bodies of believers in the founding of a Trump Nation have inflicted
real damage in the reality-based America.
When I ask Sarah Cooper if she has a parting message for Trump, who won’t be
attending Biden’s inauguration next week after finally, almost, sort of acknowledging
his defeat, she laughs and replies, “What a petty bitch!”
“That is all I have to say. What a petty bitch,” she continues. “You can’t even shake
the man’s hand? I mean, come on. It’s so on-brand though. If he had been gracious
and conceded and been this amazing beacon of light at the end of his term, we would
have been like, wait, he did pivot!
But he never pivoted.”
Project Lincoln adviser Ryan Wiggins: "Right now there are hundreds of brave soldiers
camped out in the Capitol ready to die to protect Republican Members of Congress
who are too afraid of a weak, deranged narcissist to act in the best interest of our
country."
After the Capitol siege, Republicans were shaken and open to self-reflection.
