PARIS — American investigators have concluded that a large object that washed up Wednesday on the shore of Réunion, a French island in the Indian Ocean, came from Flight 370, the Malaysia Airlines jetliner that disappeared in March 2014.

A French official with knowledge of the investigation said that the object appeared to be a wing flap, possibly from a Boeing 777, the type of aircraft used on the flight. The official said that the object was about 9 feet long and 3 feet wide, and that it appeared to have been in the water for a very long time.

Saw this on Fox News, but where are the rest of the debris?

They are going to have to try to follow back the prevailing currents to try to figure that out.

Also, the barnacles and other sea life on the debris may give them a clue as to where it's been.

Hope they'll recover more soon!

Why? It's highly unlikely that any bodies would be recovered and the boxes will probably never be found. Floating debris won't say much other than it crashed and I think everybody sort of figured that out by now.

Love the NY Times writing. They say it's from the plane but then say the part is only possibly from the type of aircraft that was lost.

lol

I'm glad that someone started this thread.
Horrible stuff, yet one of the most intriguing mysteries. Too many unanswered questions, in my opinion, for it to be a simple crash.
