I don't get it either. Deb has hostility issues she has not qualms about beating us about the head shoulders with, but she's still pretty good people. Slut_boy is not only intelligent and compassionate, he is canny and able to overlook the bad side of some people to see the good in them. He may have a panty predilection, and there is nothing wrong with that, but bantering with Deb on her level doesn't make him sick. It just makes him able to adapt himself to make others comfortable.
Deborah doesn't hide the politically incorrect side of herself from us just because we don't like it, she thinks we may find it sick, or that it might make her less popular. She just lets it all hang out. People don't have to be touchy feely happy to be interesting.
You are, however, as entitled to your opinion as they are entitled to be who they are.

I question SB's intelligence because what he did was so stupid. It put Laurel and Manu in a bad situation. What if this site would get shut down because of somthing like this?? Then where would you spend your time?
I question his compassion because he broke the one online etiquette rule that really matters: posting personal info about someone else. All for his own little bit of fun/revenge. Very selfish and not at all compassionate.
He obviously CAN'T overlook the bad in people, nor overlook it.
What went on jeopardized everything Laurel and Manu have worked their butts off for. It possibly jeopardized the well-being of a Lit. Member. That's inexcusable to me. They should be glad that this isn't my site, because I'd boot 'em.
A lot of you go off on people who mispell a word or have a grammer error, but you overlook this?? This is OK to you?

I would truly be pissed off as well. They had no right to do that. I guess that is why they aren't around to defend their actions. But as they say, PAYBACK IS A BITCH.

Still think all the whining and complaining on the board just isn't justified? I complained to Laurel as fast as my fingers would type when I saw those posts this morning. Nothing justifies personal info out on the Internet. Nothing. No "payback is a bitch."

Jesus, people. Can't we just END this? Just stop. All of it. This is a stupid, stupid episode, and I'm sick of the reruns. There's only one way to end it, and that's to end it. That means EVERYONE has to stop talking about it. It also means that when certain people (on both sides of the fence) continue to bring it up, the rest of us have to not take the bait. I have stories to edit, email to answer, script fixes to email, pics to post, fires to put out, taxes to do...I don't have the time to play Mom. "She's touching me!" "He touched me first!" I don't care. Either get along, or don't, but quit whipping the whole damn BB into a frenzy. And quit letting yourselves get whipped into a frenzy. You're either part of the problem or part of the solution. You wanna solve this? Let it go. Everyone. You wanna keep fighting? Fine, but leave me out of it. I apologize, Sonora, if you felt you were being ripped. I appreciate your concern for the BB. Since those involved have been warned and the offending posts were removed, I sorta felt like the matter was pretty much closed. I'm not angry at you, Slut_boy, Deborah, DCL, Cheyenne, Todd, Patryn, Bill Gates, Tom Brocaw, or anyone. I do think that the whole identity conflict is something that can never be fully resolved to everyone's satisfaction. I also think that it's irrelevant to most of us. Why it keeps coming up over and over again, I have no idea. Those who continue to bring it up need to ask themselves their motivations for doing so. Those of us who are sick of it need to stop responding when it is brought up.

I love debate. I love heated argument. If we all held hands and sang love songs all the time, this board would be damn dull. However, I think we're all wasting our energy on something that is not our business, out of our control, and not very fun. I'm not telling anyone what to do. If you want to argue about the identity of the Lone Ranger, do it. Whatever floats your boat.
But from my view, it doesn't look like anyone's having fun.

Okay, read the thread by Patryn. That was a rather dispicable thing to do, posting someone's real name like that on a public forum like this one. I generally don't open threads like that from Patryn because they degenerate into a pissing contest between a few principles. Another little bit of vitriolicness that ought go elsewhere, but probably won't.
I hope that some of those principles realize they crossed the line and feel some remorse over it.
Anyway. Madame Laurel has dealt with the problem rather magnificently. I'm waiting for her to bend over, it's easier to kiss her ass that way.
