does this country have such a short memory that no one remembers the savings and loan crisis?
for those of you that may be too young to remember, he and his brother neil were on the board of directors of silverado savings and loan. they authorized so many loans that they new to be bad, that the bank went bankrupt and the u.s government (then headed by his daddy) had to cough up BILLIONS of our money to bail them out!
the bush's defrauded us of our hard earned tax money and put a serious hurting on the national debt!

I have to totally agree with you,Docgvtv...The Bush years of the 88 to 92 where some of the shittyest years I have had.The Economy was Fucked up, interest rates where sky high,unemployment was sky high,the national debt was out of control.I was unemployed for a year-and-a-half.Of course,he had a little help with that,he had O'l Ronnie baby,fuck things up the 8 years before....I'm a firm believer of,"IF IT AIN'T BROKE,DON'T TRY TO FIX IT!"

I must admit that I don't have any problems with Bush. I have been leaning a little toward Gore though. That was until the other day when I read something about Gore that really disturbed me.
It seems as though your high and mighty liberal leader (Gore) came down to Texas and made some boggus bullshit lies about Bush. He tried to tell Texas citizians tha Bush has lied about our state's budget and other shit like that. However, our state treasurer and others have shown that Gore was lying. These political officials in Texas (not Bush) wanted Gore to meet with them publictly and live on tv. Gore flat out declined and said that he would not meet with them especially with tv camaras around. Why Gore? Are you really that much of a chickenshit? If you are scared to be confronted by your peers, then what will you do when confronted with a military crisis?

I agree, Docgvt. But the problem is we live in a country where most of the people who vote do so on a gut reaction rather than a dispassionate examination of a candidate's record. Since there is no means testing to earn the privilege of voting in this country, we are always going to have the worst candidates of either political party running for the job. It's easy for them since they don't have to persuade the intelligentsia of the USA, only the slack-jawed troglodytes who happily swallow the crap they are fed and subsequently give up their vote on a knee-jerk reaction.
