May the M's take you OUT! 3 Straight is all they need. They've got their back in the corner, now they mean buisness :)

Sure, that can happen. Oh, COOL. I just saw a pig fly. LOL

Isn't there an expression that goes "Anything can happen in the postseason"? :)

Whever said that, didn't count on the Yanks.:)

Actually.. it was a great game.. i prefered it to yesterdays game.. i love the excitement..

And you guys all know, i'd LOVE for the M's to win.. but if they don't.. life goes on..

I just have one question.. which no one else has been able to answer.

why is it called the World Series.. when the US are the only ones involved? shouldn't it be the US Series? :confused:

Right. There's always next year.:)

Not for the M's.. they can only do well.. every 6 years or so ;)

I guess there is always hope the SeaChickens.. ack.. i mean.. :eek: The Seahawks can go to the Super Bowl :D

It's called the World Series cos the US is self-centered :)

Also because we developed the game and we believe we're the best at it.

The Central Americans who accel at it come to the US to play.

The best from the Japaneese leagues come over here to play

So theorectically the US is the best!

(time to get me an av)

I honestly don't have any idea why it's called the World Series. It probably has something to do with our arrogance, I guess...:D

I find it's best not to think about it. The Yankees are so ... dull, uninteresting. I'm not much for words, so I'm probably missing a good word for them. But they're a bore to watch. 'Cause you know they'll win. Whoop-de-freakin-do. What's that? A 27th WS ring for NYY?

Yawn.

Now if the M's were to win, that'd be exciting. Johnson vs. Ichiro. The excitement of hearing about new faces and they're different histories! I might actually watch a game, instead of catching the highlights on ESPN.

I guess we'll have to listen to sportswriters kiss NYY ass (seeing as they're primarily from there anyway) for another series, until they win it.

And while I'm against expansion teams rising so fast... {grits teeth}

I hope the Diamondbacks kick some 'feel-sorry-for-us' New York ass! {Hits -Submit Reply- button before second-thoughts come to pass...}

I have to agree, even though I like the Yanks, it would be sorta cool for a new team to win. Although, in light of recent events, it would be cool to see NY have something to cheerful about.

The Yanks are just consistently excellent. They suffer the same setbacks as any other team (injuries, lost free agents such as Jeff Nelson). They rise to the occasion and accomplish what they need to accomplish. Isn't that something to celebrate? I wish that I could be that "boring"!

Don't get me wrong YogiBear, the Yankees are all excellent players. Heck, it's an all-star team for all intensive purposes. And yes, like all teams they must endure the usual hardships - losing streaks, injuries, George Steinbrener.

But if I hear "Thuh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh Yankees win!" from that radio anouncer one more time, I'm gonna snap somebody's neck... Sorry, but I'm just plum bored of them winning. (That's right - plum bored. It's that bad!)

TORONTO BLUE JAYS! Two time World Series champs!

It's called the World Series because the trophy was donated and sponsored by the newspaper, the "New York World" Hence the "World" Series.
