Dealing with pictures

This AM someone I have been writing to sent me some iPhone PICS. I received them on Yahoo mail. They were huge. And sideways. I am sure they were taken that way. Any way I wanted to be able to manipulate them and resize them. So I did a “Save image as as” sent it to my pics to a different email with a different ISP

When I tried to view them they opened as a weird text file. I tried view image and the image resized but were still side ways. I tried sending those to my Pics and they opened as a text file

So I emailed them to one of my other email address with a different ISP and what I got was a link back to the view image file. The original ISP has deleted the original pics and the View Image file also. The original pics were not really pornographic. Just some boob shots. Nothing more then that.

How do I get them to my PC as images or is this impossible. As you may be able to tell I don’t play with pics, hardly at all. Could it be it is because it is a cell phone or an Apple product? Is there just something I just don’t know about? (Most likely)

If I have not been specific enough ask and I’ll try to to answer to the best of my limited ability.

Thank you for any help

Mike

After you edited the pictures and you did "Save image as" what format did it save the pics as at the bottom?

Formats for pictures should be .jpg, .jpeg, .gif or .bmp. Sometimes when we go to save it will change the format type.

I take almost all of my pics with my iPhone and haven't had that issue. Maybe she needs to change her camera settings?

Sorry it took me so long to reply but she didn't send anymore until yesterday. I did a save as and it showed .JPEG. So I sent it to me and just got text again. Not really text but a mix of letters and symbols. So I am no better then before and the email provider is still deleting the images. More more help would be greatly appreciated. I assume the pic is broken down and is rebuilt as ASCII text. I just don't know.

Thanks for the help.

I have an iPhone and never had a problem whatsoever in sending photos or saving it to my desktop. What I suggest is download the photo to your desktop and then open it like that. You may then have an option to rename it and reclassify the image under a more compatible to your email.

If you can receive the photo (and see it), the problem may lie on your end. The trick is to find out where. As for the email provider deleting the image... that's pretty much unheard of. You may wish to contact them and straighten out the issue.

It's probably saving as a .php file

if you are using a pc on windows 7;(this process is very similar on xp and vista)

1. Right click the file (the one you saved on your computer)

2. click "open with"
2.a. If you only see one program then there is a small arrow on the right side of the "other progams" list. Click it and will drop down a list of programs

3. Select ""Microsoft paint"

If you only see "open" when you right click then click open, then then next window will ask to search for a program or select from installed ones. Choose select from installed ones and then do step 2.a

In ms paint the is an option right at the top that says "rotate" try it and then click the little folder thing in the top left and select "save as". I would use a "jpg" or "bmp" file type from the drop down list at the bottom and then choose a folder somewhere safe.

Hope that help, pm me if you get struck.
