DB Unavailable

Anyone else getting a "DB Unavailable. Try again later" message when trying to submit a story?

I tried twice today to submit a story and got the same message both times. Everything appeared normal until I hit the 'Submit' button, then the "DB Unavailable" message appeared. Hitting the back arrow took me to a blank submission page, so I had to re-enter all the info, as well as cut and paste the text into the submission box.

I waited several hours and tried again with the same result, so I was wondering if there's a problem at LIT, or is there something between my computer and LIT that's the problem.

I'd like to hear of anyone else is receiving the same message. Thanks.

That happened to me probably 4 times Monday when I was submitting a story. I just waited a minute and tried again. I think it's a temporary problem. Actually, I know it's temporary problem, because mine eventually went through. (I was fixing things in the "make changes" window, and then hitting "preview" to see how it looked. It happened a few times then, and a few more times when I was ready to submit.)

There's actually no need for that.

If you see that problem, all you have to do is click the page refresh button, and it goes through. Of course, you have to check your submission page to make sure it says 'pending'.

The problem still exists today. When I received the 'DB Unavailable' message, I went back and everything I'd entered had disappeared, so I had to re-enter everything and cut and paste the text onto the submission page.

I finally got past the problem the second time, but when I hit the 'Submit' button, I received another error message. This time the error message said:

"Internal Server Error (Error 500)

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request. We apologize for that.
Additional Info: Internal Server Error (500) on L2-1"

I was kicked back to a blank submission page. When I went to view, I saw 'pending,' so I presume the story was finally accepted.

Yeah, it came back again.

I tried submitting something, and for the first click (to preview) it said "DB unavailable" and I had to click "resend", then it went through.

I got "internal server error 500 on L2-1" when I tried to submit a few minutes ago, but I back-clicked to the "make changes" window, waited a bit, and it went through. It also hung up twice between "preview" and "make changes" but I didn't write down that error.

It's not unusual for the forum to fail to load, but I would assume it's on a different system.

Trying to do anything on Lit around 1-2 a.m. EST is likely to produce an internal server error.

I can only assume it's things updating and tasks running at what's the lowest traffic point of the day.

That's what I've observed along about 1:10 Eastern time every day.

The DB error appears to be worse.

I tried submitting something, and usually, I would only have to click 'refresh' once. Now i have to do it 3-4 times before it works.

I had it when trying to look at Lit page 3 on Preview.

I went back to resubmit the whole story but had the message 'You have already uploaded a story with that title'. It is now 'Pending'.
