Anyone familar with the sites?

i only know of 'little oregon' down town dayton and the gay bars... sorry.

Wright-Patterson AFB has a great air museum. That's where I'd hangout, but I suspect that's not what you meant.

I heard something about a man in an iron suit "Iron Mike"? I hate the cold, but I intend on taking some pictures while I'm there.

OMG -- every person who visited while we lived in Dayton had to go there. I got so freakin' sick of the place! Plus, I worked on the AFB -- so I was there way too much to begin with. (Someday, I'll tell the story about the Thunderbirds after that air show! )

When we lived in the DC area, everyone who visited had to do the monuments. Fortunately, that also entailed trips to the various Smithsonian buildings -- which made the monuments tolerable.

I hear you are being transferred to Orlando next. Can the wife and me and our eight kids stay with you when we hit the "Happiest Place on Earth" (TM) :D

In DC you can drop them off at Metro and wish them a good day.

So, did the Thunderbirds give you a ride after the show? <ducking>

It was one hell of a good party. (Drunken shouts of "Thunderbirds! Hooooooo!" still echo in my mind.)

Any other interesting places? I don't know if I'd be stuck around the hotel.

Sorry don't know much about Dayton, I'm a little further south. I know this really cool Goth club, but don't know if that's your thing or not. The oregon district can be cool, but haven't spent much time there. Guess I'm really not much help.
