I'll be picking up one character who was dropped out, I'm just wondering where everybody is and if we should keep this thread going

plus I thought this would be a good place to discuss and plot

It seems like every time we do this, it always ends up faltering right about the time people get together inside the mall.

I don't know, sorry to see some go, shame... this one was going well, lots of characters, cool dynamic. Now, we're down to a bunch of cops again.

I think that might be the problem. Nearly everyone goes for the godly characters.

And godly in a zombie context means guns and training to use them. And we have, what, FOUR of them in a group?

That said, I'm still willing to go on. Maybe we should just get more people into this with normal characters?

I totally understand the too many cops things.. there are essentially two reasons I made " Linda" SWAT..first of all is the homage to the first version of the movie in which two of the characters are SWAT..the secondly; I wanted a deux est machina in the version of her.. she exsists to get the initial characters together and alive..but as you can tell from her personality, shes a woman on the verge of a mental breakdown let alone being superhuman

also part is..people are waiting for the sex, lol..this is an SRP technically, but I put it here because of the more adult theme

I'm still here just have had net problems as of late, and sorry for going with a trained individual, I just wanted to play a bad guy that when he died it would be a mixed blessing. I'll post again later.

There's nothing wrong with playing a trained pofessional bad guy. Maybe you feel you need to take over this little operation.

That Swat girl is barking out too mnay orders, she'll get us all killed. You should take her weapons away, have her arrested, put in Security office, and then you can take over the mall, in whatever sadistic oligarchy you wish to run.

Wouldn't that be fun?

Now there's something we can work with. I've got character to help you, I can find a way for them to pull this off.

The point of all Zombie movies is that nobody is really trained to deal with a zombie invasion. Sure, you might know what to do, but you might not know HOW to do it. And fighting zombies is something almost nobody normal should know. That's the whole point of a zombie movie, we have normal people in a hellish situation. How does this change them? Do they go bad, do they go good, do they go mad?

Also, assaulting a SWAT member is stupid. No, better yet, retarded.



As put eloquently in Thomas Wilde's site: "If you create a CIA wet ops officer, or a SWAT cop, or anything like that, the only variable you are going to see is the body count."

I say we go on, of course. No sense in killing characters off because we suddenly feel them inappropriate. But, you know... let's keep it interesting, without having to resort to high-danger situation.

Just a matter of when we get it up running again.. my posts are going to be infrequent till Saturday ( to say the least)

throwing Linda in the brig is fine, might create tensions and mutinies amongst characters..especially if disaster strikes

we're nearly at the point where the mall is secured now, that we can start really getting on each others nerves and perving

I actually had a little something specific in mind if that's alright. Something that might be fun to throw in the mix.

Yeah, of course throwing the swat girl in the brig is retarded, that's why it'll work. Lot's of things they did in Dawn of the Dead was retarded, keeping your wife as a zombie until she came to full term? Hello?

This isn't about right or wrong moves, but about what the characters feel they need to do in order to survive. If we have a bad guy, who feels threatened that he's not in charge, he will plow ahead and make sure he is in charge, some will follow him, others won't.

That'll create some really nice drama and tension.

Oh, I'm not saying swatting at a SWAT (heh, joke, LAUGH DAMN YOU ALL) is impossible in this setting. Just saying having normal characters would be more interesting.


Incidentally, will we always solve combat this way? With us surviving consistently? I think it would be more interesting to roll the dice. Something simple like distributing a number of points between three or four stats and rolling dice for them. This way, surviving is kinda uncertain... ^^

Got an idea how I'd get in the brig..we had a male character who joined early in the thread, and subsequently fucked off... we rn into him and hes been attacked..bitten pretty bad


Linda drags him off , much to the protests of everyone else who wants to help the poor guy and kills him

She technically does the right thing, but coming across as judge jury and executioner could very much not sit well with a lot of people..and understandably so

As for combat.. for the most part, we're over that bit for now, except for a few skirmishes..well..untill we try leaving the mall, that is
