David Lynch...Why or Why Not?...

Wild at Heart

Sailor Ripley and Lulu-belle - simulated sex ....

OMG it looks so real .... so hot ....

David Lynch is one of the few directors/film makers....

Who can, "block public concern" - (disregard the audience and it's huge set of emotional baggage) - and recreate "what's in his head."

He obviously has no overriding concern for making money - he simply wants someone to fund the next project - so he can again recreate his thoughts.

He is a great and daring artist - a rarity among film makers.

eraserhead...if you ever want to give a suicidal person a real reason not to live...show them that one.

Eraserhead

It's an extremely depressing movie Ally. Disturbing is probably a better word. Not depressing like like "Tom Hanks has AIDs and they fired him from the Law firm", or disturbing like "Goddamn I never realized there was so much gore and death at Omaha beach on D-Day"...

It's depressing and disturbing because some guy actually sat down and thought it up and put it on film. David Lynch is a freak...probably a genius, but still a freak.

You have to see it..I can't really describe it here.

Two words: Blue Velvet

The man is an experiment in brilliance heretofore unparalleled.

I have a part of you with me. You put your disease in me. It helps me. It makes me strong.

MP ;)

Problem Child

You missed my obscure attempt at humour methinks. I was playing with the thread title. My humour is weak, no doubt you've noticed. If not, feel free to laugh.

In a 'funny' sort of way ...

... I did too. Never mind, tomorrow's another day.

David Lynch is a film director? Damn, That gimpy guy who teaches Public Policy is famous? Cool, I've studied under a film director.
