Following suit of the Belgariad

Anyone ever read these books?

If so, and you would like to commence a story around these characters, post your reply here.

Not looking for extra-accurate representation of the characters, but would like to see some interaction further than what the books covered.

Let me know!

I'm not a huge fan of the books, but I'm in the mood for some classic fantasy, and it sounds fun. Count me in.

alas!

i enjoyed the books but it was so long ago that i probably don't remember them all correctly...

good luck in getting your thread going :)

Me too

Been awhile for me too, but don't despair...

I am not looking for accurate accounts too much.
Just wish to continue where David and Leigh left off...

:D

Hi DJ_M

I've all his books except High Hunt and Losers. He's my fav. Unfort, due to time contraints, I cannot join this one, even as the other thread I'm in are suffering at the moment.

Good Luck. Prolly, you might narrow down the scope to the Belgariad/Mallorean, or use The Elenium/Tamuli. Both have different maps and chars. But then again, you can re-create whole new maps and chars... Just a thought.

I cant guarantee anything, but I would be interested in being Beldin. I loved that foul mouthed little dwarf.

Belgarion

I would love to play a character in this. To be honest I would would love to play Belgarath. With his unique wit and style, not to mention his disregard for what other people think of as conventional morality I think he would be an interesting character to play. Plus, the by play between him and Polgara, and the other characters, is interesting, and enjoyable in itself.

Good luck anyway

Belgarion ???

Just where, and when, would you start your thread?

There are, undoubtedly, other threats to the peace that was so hard won. But are these threats recent, or are they in the future?
If you could give us an idea of how you want to start this thread then we all may have a better idea of how the characters have developed, or not, where Silk is concerened.

One more week

I would like to thank those who have replied so far! :)

I will be trying to start this thread up by thursday, August 8th.
If we get enough people together, then we can get started.

Story plot:

- Evil has been defeated, and peace has broken across the land. Belgarath finally settles back down in his hectic world, and Polgara and Durnik returned to the Vale.

- Belgarion and his wife settle in Rivan.

- Object is to continue with their lives, not knowing where the next threat would come from.

- Loosely based on the novels...

Thanks all...

I take it that this thread is after the Mallorean, not after the Belgariad. I would just like to clarify, because in one Poledra is still 'dead', while in the other she is very much alive. Not, of course, forgetting the presence of Eriond.

I am sure you have your own ideas about how this thread should run, but, just a few thoughts on this.....If the Ultimate Evil has been elliminated during the course of the Mallorean how about the presence of the Demons in Hell. They, as we know, were exiled there by Ul and are seeking a way out, a way that only the Orb of Aldur will grant them the power to do. Which also allows the spirit of the Purpose to guide the 'players' in their pursuit.

As I said, just a few thoughts.

Good Luck which ever.

Yes...

...after all is said and done.

What I meant to say was that it follows the suit of the Belgariad, characters, places, etc.

This will take place after the last of the books in his wonderfully scripted series.

Thanks

I like the idea of the Demons being the enemies this time. They have interesting ablilities and maybe we can all go to Mordiland and get ambushed by the Demons up there. They have to get back at Belgarath for the defeats at his hands in the books.

Sorry about this, but I'll have to back out, as I'm too busy right now to handle another thread

I still like the idea of playing the character of Belgarath, I think I could play him well, and still allow the other players the freedom to play their characters to the full extent the story line will allow.

Belgarath...

...is taken by davethepro!

I will take care of Silk, and Durnik.

Anyone else?

I will take Beldin and Barak. I always liked those two characters.

Chewey

Argh....

...forgot about Barak...

Kewl, thanks Chewy...

I'm sure you'll have un with those...

If I might make a suggetion here. I would say to leave Belgarion as an NPC controled by DJ, so that no one has control of that kind of power. How about for a story line that Belgarion was with C'Nedra on a mission of goodwill to Mordinland and dissappeared, and we are all going to see if we can find them. Sound good?

Who is going to 'be' the Voice of the Prophecy? The spririt that guides the endeavours of our close knit group is an essential part of our undertaking.

Just curious, thats all.

I am hoping to get some more Lit writers involved here, hopefully we can get some ladies to play the female parts...would hate to do it myself...lol

I agree, DJ. I am sure that you would look kind of funny in a dress.
